cd drive error mobo list of beep error meanings?

    recently my cd drive broke, opened it up fixed the problem pluged it in and when it starts up it gives a few beeps cant remember the sequence but i remember someone saying something about it a while back and about a list of what the beeps mean can someone give me a link to it or what its called?
    its half 4 am here so im just going to go to bed after this so i wont be here to say what sequence it is if anyone happens to ask me

    tbh I think it varies depending on your motherboard.
    I'd have learned beeplish years ago if I thought it was consistent.
    I'd say look up the website of the mobo manufacturer and see if they have a listing for it.

    Most of the time I find when a system isn't booting and giving me beeps, the problem is a stick of ram needs to be reseated or jiggled a bit.
    Ram and video cards anyway... you (or a cable) might have knocked one slightly out of position while working on something else inside the case.

    Or if the PC is POST'ing to the point where your display is active and giving you beeps, it'll often give you a textual warning/prompt... or you can figure out what's missing in the BIOS or, if you're more fortunate, Windows.

    If it is to do with your CD ROM then it is likely to be an IDE controller issue, are you getting any error message apart from the beeps? It depends on who the BIOS manufacturer is as mentioned (normally shown at bootup like PhoenixBIOS, AMI, etc).
