Questions about Firefox

I finally made the move to Firefox a coulpe of weeks ago, and it's been a good move.

I just have a couple of questions about it.

Since I started using it my country on aerlingus.ie comes us as the US, how can I get this tro change back to Ireland?

And how can I change the order of the address that I've typed into the address bar? It's a bit annoying that they stay in the same order that they were typed in.

And a third question, can I change the icons of my bookmarks at the top of the window. My Gmail icon seems to have changed itself but I don't know how to change the others.

    Thanks for the help.

Do you not get to choose your country? The Aer Lingus website doesn't auto select for you, I thought you had to choose from a combo-box. Try clearing your cookies and trying again.
ow can I change the order of the address that I've typed into the address bar? It's a bit annoying that they stay in the same order that they were typed in.
I'm not sure what you mean by this...

Those are called favicons, and are determined by the website themselves. Unlike IE6-, Firefox has a better, though not permenent, memory for them. Essentially they will only change if the webmaster has a setting for them on his site.

Type about:config in the address bar. enter 'language' in the filter box and double click on 'intl.accept_languages' and change it to 'en-ie, en'. This changes you to English/Ireland settings.
And how can I change the order of the address that I've typed into the address bar? It's a bit annoying that they stay in the same order that they were typed in.
Do you mean the auto-complete that pops up when you start typing? I don't think you can change that.

I think the bookmark takes it's icon automatically from the website, but only if the website has an icon. I don't see any way of setting it.

Thanks. That language change fixed the thing on the aer lingus site.

ANd just to tell aidan_walsh, there is a pop-down menu on the aerlingus site but usually Ireland is automatically selected, but since I started using Firefox the US was the one that was auto selected.

What I mean about the address bar is: when I press the down arrow on the side of the bar the addresses that come up are not in the order of the latest ones I typed in.

For example: I clear my history so no addresses are stored on the address bar, if I type in www.boards.ie now, then ww.aerlingus.ie, then www.boards.ie again, when I press the down arrow www.boards.ie will be under aerlingus.

While this isn't really a big deal it's a big annoying after there's 20 addresses stored there. I looked through the setting for Firfox but couldn't see anything about changing that.

That fix for the language setting was nice, have been wanting to change that for ages!

As for the list of addresses in the drop down menu: These are listed in order of the most frequently selected, so the one you go to most often should be at the top. To change the order simply requires clicking on the address more often, but the list will change with future webpage visits! Best advice is to use bookmarks, you can choose the order that they are listed in and they are just as easy to use as that drop down menu!

Good choice in moving to Firefox, what took you so long?!

Ah, I see what you mean now. I've never really used that feature of any browser, just start typing a URL and then select from the auto-complete options. There may be an extension to do that. Check out The Extensions Mirror or Mozilla Addons pages. Auto complete manager might be what you need.

I don't know why it took me so long to move to Firefox, just lazy I guess! All the tabs and stuff are really handy now!

And thanks for all the helpful replies.
