delete web address

    im not sure if this is in the correct section so i apoligise if its wrong. looking for help. I cant delete a particular web address from my drop down bar. ive cleared my temporary files and cleared history and cleared ssl state under content (This is IE). Ran a virus scan and a registry cleaner but it still is there. any pointers on what to do?

    Have you done, Tools->Internet Options->Content->Autocomplete->Clear Forms. CCleaner should do the trick also if that doesn't work for you (not sure which reg cleaner you are using).

    yep ive done all that. im using registry mechanic from pc tools software

    Strange, try the system registry method. Start->Run->regedit and navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

    Delete the addresses manually in the right window pane.

    It is being quite troublesome, try IE History View, its freeware and see if it gets you anywhere. Apart from that not too sure unless it is some sort of spyware, have you got anti-spyware software on your system? No harm in checking that out also.
