    IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVICE

    Dear Customer,

Dell is voluntarily recalling and offering free replacements for certain notebook batteries that were sold for use with some models of Dell Latitude™, Dell Precision™ and Dell Inspiron™ notebook computers. It is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could pose a risk of fire.

Potentially affected batteries were sold with the following models of Dell notebook computers:

    Latitude D600, D610, D510, D410, D810
    Inspiron 600M, 6000, 9300
Dell Precision M20 and M70 mobile workstations.

The batteries were also sold separately, including those provided in response to service calls. The batteries were shipped to customers between October 5, 2004 and October 13, 2005. The words "DELL," and “Made in Japan” are printed on the back of the batteries.

We are notifying you because our records show that you received one or more of those affected notebook computers and/or batteries. You should immediately discontinue use of the affected battery. You may continue to use your notebook computer safely by ejecting the battery, with the power turned off, and using your AC adapter power cord originally provided with your notebook. Dell will also provide a means for you to return the affected batteries for proper disposal. If you have additional questions not covered on the recall website, or cannot access the website, please call Dell 1850 543 543

    www.dellbatteryprogram.com

Please note that only the described batteries are subject to this recall and not the notebook computers themselves.

Dell apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this issue. Shipment of quality products is Dell’s foremost concern. As always, if you have questions or concerns about this or any other product related matter, please feel free to contact us.

    Yours sincerely,

    Dell
