Whats the difference between 6800LE and the GeForce 6800

I believe that the 6800LE has only 8 pipes vs the 12 of the standard 6800. Basically, all you need to know is it's a lesser 6800 hence cheaper -- avoid.

That gamers edition from xfx comes overclocked as standard too -- it's a great card, I'd pay the extra and go for it, if it was a choice between the two.

I'm almost certain the 6800 has 12 pipes and the 6800LE has only 8 -- half that of the GT and Ultra -- anyone confirm?

It has one texture processing unit (or something like that) less too.

Interestingly it looks like it may be possible to re-enable the piplines and texture units on 6800's and le 's to basically end up with an underclocked ultra. Essentially the gpu is the exact same for all 6800 varieties just with some pipes disabled in software. It may be that some were disabled because they failed testing but some seem to be ok. There's plenty of threads on it at http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

    Thanks for the reply

Do you think this card would be a better buy than a ATI 9800 PRO OR 9800XT even though its cut down
