Which program should I use to compress big Wav files to mp3 and then make 3 minute sectors of a 30 minute mp3. Thanks alot :) :) :)

I like SoundForge myself but any decent mp3 ripper that uses LAME as a backend should do fine. The Lame homepage will list these.

As for splitting, soundforge again or else something nice from www.doom9.org under their audio section.
