My brother plays alot of this game, and I REALLY don't see it's appeal

not being all that interested in football probably steers that view anyway....but it just looks terrible

mind you he's completely hooked on it so i assume that at least HE likes it

Once you get into it, it has that "one more turn" or "one more match" thing going for it, you need to continue just a little bit more to find out if u win the next match, or how much money you'll have for the next season, or if that player accepts your contract,
all of which means its 4am, and you have to be up for work in 3 hours.
Its a bit similar to games like Civilisation and others in that way

I think you get very attached to your team, and you really care about their performances and stuff. You're always trying to upgrade your players with newer and younger models, so there's a touch of empire-building to it as well.

And its footie...

you can here him ff'in and blinding from the other room when one of his players costs him the match

and i think he doesn't really care who he gets rid of....as far as he's concerened if they **** up once, they've ****ed up too many times

great fun to watch him bitch about it though

you really should have a go at it, it can be the most rewarding game when you're team wins 6 on the trot, and your tactics run sweetly,
or it can be absolutely souldestroying when it all goes bad, when you're players get unhappy and hate you, or you team starts being gay and losing for no discernable reason at all.

or if the mate you're playing a 2player game with steals your player out from under you, really pisses me off that one

If you ask your brother what he's cursing and he'll probably say something like "Kallstrom is averaging a 6.2", tell him he's a geek.

To get the most out of CM I think you kinda need to be a bit of a footie fan in the first place, but once you get hooked you're fucked and probably for life. It's by turns the most rewarding and aggravating game you'll ever play - a bit like footie itself I suppose.

Be warned though when you first start loosing games to 89th minute penalties after your players missed stackloads of sitters you could well break many valubales in the room. Remove everything of sentimental or pecuniary value from your immediate surroundings before you start to play is my advice.

why not? Its only a computer game, it won't hurt you, get your brother to play a 2 player game with you, pick your favourite team,
buy some players, set up some tactics, then play a few matchs

it'll hurt me HARD

i've no interest at all in playing a computer game based on managing a football team
i'll play other games if i wanna game similar, but not that one

anyways, if i wanna play football, i'll play fifa....that's the last game i've play that involved football! back in the days of the original PS1!
