Free Mixing and/or Mastering (no catch!)
Heyo Folks, I'm an ex-Major Music Label (Sony Music) exec with years of experience Producing, Mixing and Mastering. With that being…

Hi all, I got a pro-ject Carbon Evo 2 for Christmas. Some lps play fine but some have a lot of sibilance. Its really harsh on hi hat cymbals and vocals with words that have an S in them. Recommend a good easy to use recording program, one I'm familiar with no longer works
I used cool edit pro 2.0 years ago but it no longer works and has changed to adobe audition which charges a monthly fee. I have looked into audacity and I hadn't a clue what to do with it. Also had a look at pro tools which is quite expensive. What does everyone else use? and what is the quality like?

What is sampling?
Ok, bit of a story... My son has autism and the associated very narrow interest range, practically nothing. He recently mentioned sampling. I thought great and told him to look up what is needed and I will get it for him. He didn't, just left it. His therapist advised that if we were prepared to take a financial gamble we…

Explain this to me
I was checking something on whosampled.com and was trying to understand something. This track: https://www.whosampled.com/sample/100108/DJ-Misjah-%26-DJ-Tim-Access-Deee-Lite-Picnic-in-the-Summertime/ sampled a vocal from Dee-Lite, but they only sampled the vocal not the backing music. How did they filter out the music bit?…

Stage box question
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, maybe a mod can move it if it is. I'm a drummer and I'd like to tidy up my cables. I was looking at an 8 input stage box with the thinking of changing 2 of the inputs to outputs to receive a monitor mix to go into my IEM. Is this doable? What is the advantage of a stage box over a…
