Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The ground is saturated here in limerick since it hasn't stopped raining since the early hours of Sunday morning. Non stop. Not a night to be out driving trees could early be up rooted.

    We are about to find out if the Arpege is state of the art, or just in a state.

    My hunch is that its early depictions are a bit overdone but not by much, the later portions are probably on the money (from eastern Ireland onwards).

    Predicting peak gusts of 75 knots Belmullet, 60 knots Dublin A and near 70 knots on east coast north of Dublin, 80 knots exposed locations Isle of Man and Lancs. You can pretty much double those numbers to estimate km/hr. (minus 7%).

    11pm reports, gusts starting to come in, Mace head and Belmullet both gusting 34 knots. they are the ones to watch in the coming few hours. 990hpa now at Belmullet

    The first storm of this season was Angus in November and it went South of us and hit the South of England. I know this personally as I had chosen that weekend to spend in Brighton!!

    Seriously alarmed now at the wind gusts being shown on these maps for Mayo!

    Too late updating the status now,everyone's in bed.

    During Darwin they left it too late,
    Evelyn Cusack forecast the red alert around midnight on TV.

    Am I right in thinking those kind of winds and gusts will be a big shock to Dublin? It usually gets off lightly in these situations.

    oh, they have her now, severe winds everywhere.... gusts up to 120kph in the east during rush hour. thats about all she mentioned.

    Nothing much in Cork but starting to whistle from the chimney..no schools open tomorrow so at least less people needing to head out in morning..great info from those in the know on here..keep it up as very interesting .
