I think Simon Harris is handling things very well. Seems to be straight talking and realistic.

Due to fly Wednesday to Sunday for a funeral in the UK, would you advise to go or not ?

Not unless you want to go to a few others.

PS if it were in Ireland you'd be strongly discouraged from going. Just because Boris Johnson is an intransigent foolcdoesn't mean you have to be.

    Why aren't Ireland mass testing?

Working / worked for South Korea.

drive-through swabbing in car parks is how they do it.

He looks a little unwell, seems to have lost weight.

Didn't realise his wife is a cardiac care nurse

    Cillian lucky man.
Claire wanting to explore self-isolation with her.

    I like Cillian.
    Seems very sound and competent

We will be shortly once the lads get those test kits out, 15 minute tests are a game changer.

She said at the beginning that she has the cold and contacted her GP, in the mean time shes gone in to isolation
Sorry,I implied it was a stunt...didn’t know she had cold symptoms and was told to self-isolate....assumed it was a stunt!

'Not positive' does NOT mean not infected.

That seems to be our plan.

Was it not more a slip of the tongue, in that we don't have an NHS here?

Too much Brit bashing isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

I didn't fully get what he wanted - does he want to leave NY come back here to 'help out' then return to his job in NY again?
I'd presume if he takes a job in HSE would just hand in letter of resignation in NY? Why would he need a gov document for that

I don't get what he wants either. NYC will need lots of doctors too. There are no flights between the USA and Ireland for at least 30 days, yet he's complaining no one replied to his email in the last 2 days?

If you were going to take over Ireland, the 2 best days to do it would be Christmas Day and St Patrick's Day.

UK is turning itself in to a petri dish of virus mixed with epic incompetence.

I'm guessing not a good combination.

    I vote no.

No, don't chance it. You may well get stranded.

That's very unfortunate but, by example, Italian funerals are now 15 hearses at a time parking outside a crematorium, the funeral rites being offered en masse over the cars and the remains being cremated together, no family present, no ashes returned.

Your travelling could help bring about this scenario on this island. I'm sorry.

Wouldn't that doctor be needed where he is?

I think the point he was making was, to be released from his contract there he needs to have written proof that he's been recalled to Ireland as an emergency. He just needs it in writing by letter or email

    He has crowns disease aswell.

He'd be gone quickly if he contracts the virus.

It sounded to me that he doesnt like his job in NY very much and wants a way out of his contract complete with free flights home.
Also to look like a hero for wanting to help his country.
