My thoughts on KI after playing it for a few hours solid
It doesn't play much like any other FG. This isn't a bad thing. It's really different and it requires a different approach. I tried playing it like SF and it didn't really work. It feels like the original KI did (which makes sense), but just with less bugs and stupid crap :pac: And I think it's a good thing, it's always nice learning a new game that feels different than the others
Tieing in with my first point, there's no real footsies or zoning (outside of fullscreen, and maybe Glacius as an exception), the game is very, very high/low. This is what the original KI was like. AFAIK every character has an overhead that opens into combos? I feel like fireballs have very limited usage in this game, but like I said, it's not a bad thing
Counter Breaker is a great mechanic. The combo system is well balanced.
Overall the game feels different and it's a breath of fresh air, also to note that the game looks fantastic. As far as game balance goes, I haven't got much of an opinion yet, but I can definitely say Spinal is one of the best if not the best.
Still getting to grips with game mechanics, overall, I like it

My impression is it's alright
The scrub entry level is what puts me off the game, and the RPS combo mechanic
Getting guaranteed damage in this game is so difficult it makes random retarded decisions all the less daunting for bad fg players
also wish pokes did a lot more damage, chip needs to be higher also
Play sabrewulf players for 2 hours and you'll see0 -
