Civil War 6

The tournament just ended. despite it being one of the smaller Killer Instinct tournaments to date (35 entrants) it ended up being one of the most exciting to watch due to the high level play shown from players that are "unknowns". Also plenty of Fulgore play as well.

What's the story with the bundles? Am I right in saying that 19.99 gets you all characters in season one? Does that include future characters?

Is the 39.99 for everything in future? (like a season pass)

40 grants all accessories/costumes and Original KI re-mastered

You can expect that Season 2 will follow the same pricing scheme.

Another €20 for the 8 characters in Season 2. So if you want to safe money you could just pay €20 for the Season 1 and then another €20 for Season 2 giving you a total of 16 characters. Thats still cheaper than a new XB360 or PS3 game which usually costs around €60.

Killer Instinct is being released in seasons. Season 1 just finished now after the completion of Spinal and Fulgore. If you buy the $20 pack (Season 1 pass) you'll get all of the current 8 characters.

Season 2 is now in production and is a completely separate thing from what's available on the store right now. If you want what's coming in Season 2 you'll need to buy the Season 2 pass, which I don't think is out yet.

This is a match up that is becoming one of my favourites to watch. For those who don't know already Fulgore's game plan is all about building his "shadow meter" while Spinal is all about stealing it.

I have been testing this game out the past few days with the one free character. I really like the game and want to buy it. The problem I have is I cant find games online? It takes forever to find a game and the game seems to be disconnecting me from lobbies before games. I have no issues in other games and my NAT is open.

Is it because I am using the free version or is not many people in UK/IRE and Europe playing it? There is no point me buying it if this is how its going to be. Cheers.

There are a ton of people playing it and you should have few problems playing it online.

I sometimes find I have the same issue as you. It sometimes resolves if I quit out of the game and restart it.

Ok thanks. I don't have the best broadband at the mo (DSL 5mb D/.5 up, Ping 38 or so) and this game might be fussier than others for match making so it might just be that. Only eircom available in my area but they are upgrading it to fibre in a few weeks.

I think I will pick up KI at 20 quid and play offline for a bit.

It doesn't play much like any other FG. This isn't a bad thing. It's really different and it requires a different approach. I tried playing it like SF and it didn't really work. It feels like the original KI did (which makes sense), but just with less bugs and stupid crap :pac: And I think it's a good thing, it's always nice learning a new game that feels different than the others

Tieing in with my first point, there's no real footsies or zoning (outside of fullscreen, and maybe Glacius as an exception), the game is very, very high/low. This is what the original KI was like. AFAIK every character has an overhead that opens into combos? I feel like fireballs have very limited usage in this game, but like I said, it's not a bad thing

Counter Breaker is a great mechanic. The combo system is well balanced.

Overall the game feels different and it's a breath of fresh air, also to note that the game looks fantastic. As far as game balance goes, I haven't got much of an opinion yet, but I can definitely say Spinal is one of the best if not the best.

Still getting to grips with game mechanics, overall, I like it

My impression is it's alright

The scrub entry level is what puts me off the game, and the RPS combo mechanic
Getting guaranteed damage in this game is so difficult it makes random retarded decisions all the less daunting for bad fg players
also wish pokes did a lot more damage, chip needs to be higher also

Play sabrewulf players for 2 hours and you'll see
