You're going to clean my bike? How thoughtful.

Who wants to be in my pit crew? :)

I got football studs from Elverys last year, they did the trick.

I mean my shoes don't have stud sockets...

I got my licence and entry for this sorted, I'm sad to report.

Why can't they have this race in July?

Then everyone would complain it was too warm ;) We're lucky, they're usually isn't ice and snow.

Just on the off chance I'm not been dragged around the shops on Sunday, is there any parking for this? Not sure of the area so not sure where I could park the car to watch.

  • Administrators, Social & Fun Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 75,714 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Beasty

There is parking on the road that runs alongside of the park. With 180 or so participants, around 40 marshals, others providing catering and the like as well as spectators I suspect that road may get filled up quite quickly. We would not want anyone taking up space in nearby residential areas but there are plenty more parking options within a short walk. The plan is to have a few "parking marshals" who will have a wander round the area regularly from the comfort of their saddles to keep their eyes on everyone's vehicles.

Isn't there official parking around the corner?

Anyway, I mixed up my mix up, and am now racing the m40 race. I think........

    Don't know - is there?

I know they tried to sort something out at a local school but that fell through. It may be that those there early get to park alongside the park and the later ones will be "around the corner" (whichever corner that may be!)

    Summarised Met Eireann outlook...

Rain Thursday night..... Friday... more heavy falls of rain.... more rain... overnight on Friday... Saturday.. wet....more rain.... Saturday night showers.. may turn wintry....

Sunday... drier... cooler day with highs of 6 to 8 degrees.

    Skiddery!*

Course is well mucky. Some puddles up to my axles earlier.Bike fairly covered in grass with a couple of minutes riding earlier. Will be even worse when chewed up by a few riders. Traction uphill non existent.Looking good for a tough race.

Some parking over at spar in Swords Manor which is north side of the course. 2 minutes walk down by path.
