Ganley held that smile for at least 10 full seconds at the end!

I can see him getting further presenting work after this, he was pretty good.

Ganley is a polished performer, no doubt.
Having agreed with him from the start regarding the bail-out, much of what he said regarding the Lisbon treaty and having felt he was the victim of an utterly lacking in any kind of evidence smear-job by an RTE programme in the run up to the second Lisbon vote, i was particuarly interested to see if his stewardship this week would give an insight, divorced from these particular issues, into his political leanings/possible agenda.
Last nights show was particularly informative in this regard, i felt.
Didn't paint him in a positive light, in my opinion.

I thought he did a professional job as he is not a polished tv presenter, the one thing I didn't like was his closing statement about where he stands, sounded like why he might have done the gig in the first place to promote his view.

Ganley is far too fond of making longwinded speeches pushing his own agenda instead of moderating the panel discussion. By the time he gets to the end of his vervose monologues I've forgotten what the question was.

Yeah i seen that. I was laughing at him. You could see the moment he thought the show had stopped broadcasting and he just let the smile fall.

Unlike you I'm clearly not a member of the Ganley the Great club?. I prefer professional presenters who at least know how to moderate a discussion impartially & do not use the opportunity to massage their own ego.

thought ganley was brilliant on this.

certainly leagues ahead of the other presenters so far. for the first time in ages ive gone back to stream the stuff ive missed off TV3s website. ger colleran is as annoying on telly as he is on the radio, sam smyth was just going through the motions and the less said about Mammy the better.

if TV3 have any brains theyll offer ganley a business show. with his connections we'd be guarentted quality guests if nothing else and christ knows theres no competition from RTE in that dept. a slot on saturday and sunday would do, prehaps even replacing vinnys friday night show which is kinda crap compared to his mon to thurs one.

but all in all and impressive stint and he managed to reign himself in more than i though he would. boyd barret was the only one he kinda lost it with.

looks like its sarah carey next week.

I think Declan Ganley and Gerard Colleran were both really good guest hosts. I was amazed at how comfortable they were presenting the programme.

She lost her gig guest presenting Midweek and I thought she was dropped as a columist for a while by one of the newspapers she wrote for.

No one is perfect..so many tv personalities have less than clean pasts - Dunphy being the biggest example...people should get over it.

It's a bit much when she's giving her opinion on public matters when she lied to a tribunal. Not like she's that good of a presenter anyway.

Dunphy is controversial but that's his style. He's never lied to tribunals or done anything of the sort. Surely if you're presenting a current affairs program then your record would have to be clean in that regard, not to mention being likable.

Dunphy has a drink-driving charge - a taboo now in this country, but that hasn't affected his career. That's why I was mentioning him.

That's it, she lied and wasted the time of an expensive tribunal. Not something to be proud of. Also, as I said above it's not like she's a good presenter anyway. A good presenter has to have a likability factor, not a chance she has 'it' after what she done.

It's a private station, they can put on whatever presenter they like. There's always the remote if you don't like it.

Dunphy committed a crime and was punished by the laws of the land.. He is serving his sentence, and if you have a problem with that you can take it up with the "justice" system.. Jim McDaid got away with it too to a certain degree. People generally like Dunphy anyway and not to mention he was accountable for his actions.

She lost her job at the IT and went missing off TV3 for months. Consider that her jail sentence.

Whether it's a considered a crime when it's in a tribunal setting, I'm not quite sure. But I presume you've looked it up.

Well, as far as I know, any evidence given to the tribunal is not admissable in a court of law.. And if any court case was to be initiated from the findings of a tribunal, they would have to forgo everything previously learned, and a new trial started from scratch.. I could be wrong on the finer details .. I'm not a legal person, and am open to correction, but that is what how I think it works.

You seemed pretty sure in your previous posts. I don't think it's a crime, as tribunals are different to courts, no jury etc.

VB doesn't get to choose his substitute. He's not compromised in any way.

My opinion would be that it should be considered perjury to lie to a tribunal.. as it would be if you lied to a court of law.. I mean we seem to disagree on absolutely everything else, surely we can agree on this?
