    That one yeah?

Does the base fluid have a flavor it self? is it sweet, bitter or bland? i see some cats on youtube adding a sweetener to their mixes? is this really need?

would 500ml of base fluid, and say 20-30euro worth of flavorings do me?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

    yeah that's the stuff

tbh for your first order I'd reccomend you order a smaller amount of juice, maybe 100ml 36 and 100ml 0mg and enough somewhere around 10 flavours just so you get a feel for what flavours you might like. then when you know there are 2-3 you like, you can make a large order for flavourings and bases

I made a huge order my first time and while I did use up all the base eventually, I'm left with a ridiculous amount of flavourings I still haven't bothered trying out because I dont have enough 5ml bottles to test them :) it gets unwieldy

also I think inawera.com works out a bit cheaper than inaweraflavours.com

    oh
    and
    http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=26

cheap enough bottles (better than the inawera bottles imo) and great pipettes. the inawera pipettes are ****ing terrible, a couple of 3ml/1ml ones from liberty flights will sort you out for mixing small batches and free delivery from LT

oh andyeah I think the bases have a very mild flavour. I dunno, cant say I ever vaped dthem on their own or noticed anything weird in my mixes.
I didnt like that dirty neutral base (tobacco base) at all though. ruined any juice I tried to make.

Sweet, i'll get on the case over the weekend picking flavours and so on! :)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

any of the inawera fruit flavours i've tried have been pretty good, very faithful to the actual thing. banana and pineapple especially

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,756 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

It's only the fruit and Cola flavors i'm interested in, not gonna go mad trying to make some mad concoction or anything, maybe a minty one too for a change....see how i fare out, i'm gonna have to start keeping hold of my old juice bottles instead of tossing them! :)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

dont order too much (any) of the red cola

it smells very cola like in the bottle but when I mixed it.. jesus christ no
    just... no

oh and the eucalyptus flavour is lovely. i normally hate menthol but I'd happily vape this all day

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,756 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

When i get dekang juices, i always throw in a bottle of their red cola, love the stuff...

is it anything at all like that?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

    it wasnt for me anyway

when you smell the bottle of flavouring there is a cola hint, but a very strong kinda chemical lemon flavour. when I diy'd the juice the only flavour that came through was that chemical lemonish flavour, it was rank.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,756 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

euch...i'll pass on that then! :)

    This page might help you:)

im pretty sure it was perfumers apprentice i saw someone talking about elsewhere, but they mentioned they do up a mix first with a pg base
like 10ml pg, 1 ml flavouring
then they shake that good and hard

then they use that mixture to make their proper juices so 5-10% of that mix instead of the straight flavouring. it's meant to be incredibly concentrated stuff, all I know is I tried some dk-tobacco from them at 10% and it came out rank so maybe that was why

Looks like the ecigshop are going to be supplying diy flavour concentrates just spotted this on Facebook, they are doing a poll for favourite flavours. http://www.facebook.com/eCigShop.eu/app_20678178440
They also said they are introducing new DIY section soon, hopefully they might sell PG and VG at a good price, it would be handy to be able to get it here in Ireland instead of waiting a week

  • Registered Users Posts: 984 ✭✭✭newmark

I sent them a message on facebook asking if they would be supplying PG base and they just got back to me to confirm they would, Yipee...
Gonna hold off on my Inawera order now and hopefully they will be reasonably priced.

Has anyone been making any e-liquids or come across any interesting flavours recently? I'm thinking of getting in an order somewhere next week to experiment with some new flavours.

I'd spotted earlier in the week that e-cigshop are doing flavours already, more expensive than inawera at €2.95 vs €1.65 for 10ml. But it's it would be great for smaller orders, and I'd be happy enough to pay a bit extra for somewhere local. Hopefully if they prove popular the prices can come down too. Great to here they'll be doing bases too. I've found bottles of VG in Boots, but it was either €3.99 or €4.99 for 150ml compared to €1.68 for 100ml at inawera, so pricey enough.

I picked up a bottle of that vg in boots alright just as a spare in case im stuck. Im hoping ecigshop have the pg nic base soon because im all out and didnt order from inawera. Id like to get my hands on a good rye4 or similar concentrate.

How much nic base would people require in a single order 250ml or more?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

i think most people tend to order 100ml of nic base and then some 0nig pg/vg to dilute

  • Registered Users Posts: 850 ✭✭✭wingnut32

What would you guys be happy to pay for 100ml each, I think it would be 50mg base? €20 for 125ml??, this would be absolutely pristine non chinese pharma grade at 50mg

I wasnt planning to offer this quite yet but if you guys really want to see it I can get it up on the shop in about ten days and can set up pre orders over the weekend. The shop is there for you guys so let me know and we'll do it:)

€20 for 125ml of 50mg base sounds good to me:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭derra

Would be interested in the base alright but definitely would also need the PG and VG dilutant to be available as well.
It would take a fair bit of the dilutant if mixing say 12mg @ 70/30 with a 50mg base.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

20 for 125ml 50mg sounds pretty good alright

  • Registered Users Posts: 850 ✭✭✭wingnut32

€16 for 100ml. This is up on the site now and can be paid for, should be delivered to customers no later than 16/5/12.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

any plans for 0mg pg/vg bases?

ill order some of the 50mg anyway just to have it, it works out cheaper than inawera

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,756 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

I'm liking the sound of this!!! :-)

Really need to work on getting a DIY all day vape going, and using the store bought stuff occasionally!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

healthcabin have a sale on atm so will probably order a metric ****ton of 5-10ml bottles

even with the sale on from my hasty calculations ordering the 50mg from e-smoke works out cheaper than buying from them or inawera and it's from an irish supplier so pretty great deal

Im just going to go with PG Digby, the VG can be gotten at a great price in a few places http://mistralni.co.uk/catalogue/product/14. Flavours are gonna take about 6 weeks or so but it will be worth the wait.

i thought there is only one source for non chinese nicotine - It is German MERCK , what u call "synthetic" nicotine. Too cheap to be true though ....
38mg 100 ml base last me for 12 months . ( diluted to 6 mg) . it is 13 euro from inawera if i am not mistaken . 50 mg kinda pointless for my needs -- i better get fresh 100 ml 38 every year , rather than using 50mg 100 ml for year and a half

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

i was reading on ukvapers that TW used irish sourced nicotine, so there's definitely more than german stuff

    http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/platinum-titanum-ice-products.html
The nicotine comes from Ireland, the mixing and bottling takes place in the Totally Wicked HQ in Blackburn, under controlled conditions in our purpose built clean room, using a specialist team headed by our in-house Production Chemist, Dr Bilal Patel PhD.

There are a few american "farms" where the nicotine is extracted also!

There is a warning on that link that that stuff is not safe for food or e-cigarette use! If anyone is buying this stuff from anywhere make sure it is food grade and suitable.

Ooops didnt see that on that page, plenty of other places to get the vg cheap!

As I said, Boots in Newry (presume other branches in the north as well) 99p for 200ml VG (BP grade).

It's very thick, so I dilute it with water in the ratio 1:9 (1 part water to 9 parts VG).

I'm vaping a lemon/menthol mix at the moment and it's absolutely amazing. I made up a plain lemon mix first, and it was ok, but nothing special, so I added more lemon flavour and a bit of menthol and that really brought it to life. It's actually a bit like those hard lemon sweets with the sherbet inside. From now on I'm adding menthol to everything :)

That sounds nice I may try that what brand of concentrates are you using?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

Inaweraflavours own brand for favours and the nic base, then some VG from boots. I basically used:

    10ml 38mg PG
    20ml 0mg VG
    2ml Inawera lemon concentrate.

I left it steep for 2 days. Then I then used about 3ml of that, and it was ok, flavour wasn't very strong, although it got a bit stronger near the end so it may have improved if I left it steep a little longer. But I went ahead and added:

    1ml Inawera lemon concentrate
    1ml Inawera menthol concentrate

I probably should have left this steep a little more, sometimes the flavour swings a bit between all lemon and all menthol, but most of the time it's a perfect blend of the the two. The flavour is pretty strong too, I think when I go to make it again I'll make it a good bit weaker and try steep for a week to see if that works better. But it's not too strong as it is.

Did you see that e-smokeireland is selling Nicvapes 100ml 50mg for €16?

This works out very nicely price-wise, about 275ml of 18mg factoring in a 12% flavour ratio - and a lot less hassle than getting it shipped from Inawera, plus the Nicvapes nic has a brilliant rep for being super clean.

yeah and e-cigshop have inawera nic liquid in various pg/vg formulas and 0mg pg/vg stuff too, only noticed that today after newmark pointed it out

I have some of e-smokes 50mg ordered since earlier in the week so I'd imagine it'll be a while before I need to order any more, but I do like e-cigshops variety of pg/vg blends of nic liquid and afaik e-smoke aren't intending on supplying 0mg pg/vg

e-cigshop also have a few inawera flavours too, which is pretty cool. e-smoke are getting some in the future.. I think?.. either way it'll be great to have irish options to order this stuff even if only so you can order some flavour you havent tried before on a whim and cheap/quickly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 813 ✭✭✭mrplop

The Nicvapes stuff is a lot nicer than the Inawera nic in my opinion and I'm getting rid of all my Inawera flavours too - kind of all tastes the same to me - too sweet.

    hrm
cant say I noticed much sweetness.. although I have only used inawera nic juice so maybe ill notice a difference with the nicvape stuff

im having some trouble with my diy's atm

I made up about 90ml each of american type and us red mix in the middle of march. and I can remember enjoying them at the time after a weeks steeping but now after 1-1.5 months in the drawer I am hardly getting any flavour from them

they smell the same.. if I exit the room and come back in I can smell the juice I've been vaping.. but in a boge cartomiser I'm getting bugger all flavour.

maybe my tastes have changed after vaping so much liqua tobaccos over the past few weeks, or even after using the RDA exclusively for almost a month but.. I am dissapoint.

I still have some of the concentrates here so when I get the nicvapes I guess im gona start from scratch with 5ml of each at 5%/10% and see what they're like after a couple of weeks. I do need a good tobacco DIY as a main stay but at the moment I'm going to have to order another 30ml of liqua tobacco next week to keep me going in between fruit juices.

healthabin order arrived with some new diy flavours

the litchi smells exactly like the dekang litchi I know and love. super excited about this one. got 20ml of it hoping it would be nice and it's already looking good

pineapple/orange/cranberry/banana all smell ok. banana smells delicious but quite artificial, like a banana milkshake. orange smells kinda like one of those cheap orange scented aerosols.. cranberry and pineapple smell pretty nice

the most important of my new diy flavours, the tobaccos

deluxe tobacco, usa mix and flue cured

they call smell kinda nutty, deluxe and usa mix smell similar but with deluxe smelling far stronger. flue cured is the strongest smelling of the lot and also the nicest. There's a kind of sharp edge to them all that might just be down to the strength of the concentrate.. not sure if it'll transfer into the mix

i wasnt going to bother mixing anything until next week but i'll do up 5ml of each of the tobaccos and one or two of the fruits today. I wont have any dripping atomisers until next week anyway so by the time they arrive they should be well steeped.
as always 10% is the order of the day
kinda tempted to do a mixed fruits juice too.. orange/pineapple/cranberry?.... could be a winner

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

just did 2ml of each of my flavours @ 10% but I noticed something

I decided to see how many drops it actually took to make 1ml

    10 drops was .25 ml
so 40 drops is 1ml not the 20 I had previously been using (and telling people)

I guess it really does depend on the type of stopper/bottle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭alec76

I guess it really does depend on the type of stopper/bottle
thickness of liquid making the difference as well ( it is not same for every kind of flavour we using)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

yeah all the flavours I had were from healthcabin so after 2-3 bottles I stopped using a syringe and just assumed they were near enough the same consistency

over time I'll get an idea for which flavours I like most and I'll be able to measure them properly so I know how many drops per ml, painin the sack doing it for every single flavour though
