Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Does lockette work with factions? As in, can I put a name of one on a sign and only members are allowed in?

    Beds do not work and we can not use /f sethome to respawn... This can't be intentional!

    Thought this might be useful here:
    Factions:
    Max power: 10
    Min power: -5
    Power regen: 1 per 5 minutes
    Power loss while offline: None
    No faction member limit, but large factions will be shown on dynmap, and will have other drawbacks.
    No home/warp/tp commands.

    Dynmap:
    Chat is disabled until I can figure out how to have faction chat only
    Factions with less than 5 members will have their territory hidden
    Players will show on the map by default. However they will be hidden in light levels of 6 or less, or while sneaking.

    Neutral players:
    Players can request to be neutral.
    They will have PvP disabled by default.
    They will be able to use lockette to protect their stuff.
    If an area is fenced off and has a lockette sign to get it, it is considered to be neutral.
    Any griefing of a neutral area/house/whatever will result in a ban.

    Any other questions just ask.

    Also, Power seems to be regenerating faster than it should?

    Only got to play about 30 minutes last night before work, and it was some of best fun I had in Minecraft. Been massively looking forward to factions since ye said boards would have one.

    Can't wait to bate into it again tonight. :P

    Server is back up, economy integration now in action.

    Price list:

    $30 – The basic cost for claiming land.
    $30 – How much the cost of claiming land is reduced if it is being taken from another faction, as an incentive.
    $15 – Each additional land claimed by a faction will cost more than the last, the 2nd claim will cost 45, the third will cost 60, and so forth.
    50% – Refund for unclaiming land.
    4100 – Additional cost for claiming land which is not connected to existing claims. This additional cost is only added if the faction has at least 1 existing claim somewhere in the current world, and is added to the cost after all other calculations are done. This fee is not refunded from unclaiming land or even considered in actual land values.
    $100 – The cost to use /f create.
    $15 – The cost to use /f owner.
    $30 – The cost to use /f sethome.

    To get money, sell diamond, gold or lapis blocks using the /sell command.
    /sell [item] [amount]
    /sell diamond 4
    /sell goldingot 2
    /sell lapisblock 4

    Diamonds are worth $200
    Lapis Blocks are worth $200
    Gold is worth $100

    Yep, I have to do it manually every evening. Should be fixed now. Home flags are still showing, so I'm working on fixing that.

    tbh I would be in favour of taking it down. Reduces lag and adds to the secrecy of factions.

    I was kicked out of the server no more than 15 minutes ago due to lag or whatever. I log back in, the screen was black and I fell out of the world for no reason. Any chance I can get 3 items back? I forget what else I had.

    Not much good to us at all, as long as the factions are willing to tell us where they are, then we can do without it too.

    It is useful to see where other faction members are, And to see the general map, But right now I feel like god using it as I can just watch all the other players build away:pac:

    There have been a couple of people dying to lag issues when logging in. If you have anything valuable in your inventory, put in a chest when logging out for now, as it will not be replaced if you die.

    It can be both useful and a disadvantage at the same time. Especially to warring factions.

    I can't really sneak up on anyone.

    Can ANYTHING be done about the lag? The amount of times I've died because a mob has killed me that I don't see until a minute later is ridiculous.

    I'd like to be neutral, anyone know how I can be 'labeled' as such? I tried to use the warp last night but it didn't work ... presumably as I am not neutral yet .. thanks!

    Apparently Optifine 1.3 is out Maybe that would help with the lag.

    You'll have to wait until Dec changes your status to neutral , then you can use the warp :)

    I'm just about to update to the latest dev version of the factions plugin. Up to now its still been running off the 1.2.5 version, which is buggy and laggy, so hopefully this will help things a bit.

    Optifine only helps with FPS, It can do nothing about server lag as that is a server issue:P

    Hey, I just logged on to the factions server, discovered that I cannot destroy blocks. I punched the starting sign for neutral warp and destroyed the type on it. Sorry!

    Edit : Nevermind, it was back on a relog >.<

    is there any guide as how to play on the factions server? is there only a certain number of factions at the moment or can we form our own?

    There is no limit to the amount of factions, and you can create your own easily.

    There would be a large amount of tutorials on the web for getting used to playing factions. you can use /help and /f help to get used to the plugins. When someone sends you invite you can use /f join [factionname] or you can create your own faction by /f create [factionname]. I could explain more of the mechanics ingame if I see you, such as power and that.

    Also, the server keeps crashing ever few minutes, I was mining and next thing I appeared in the ocean and drowned after a crash, needless to say I wasn't too happy.

    LOL, sorry but that's a first.

    I expected a few server problems TBH, they were bound to happen with all the updates to bukkit and minecraft and they'll take days if not longer to fix

    Just out of curiosity, can neutral people wander around faction areas just to see the nice buildings etc or is that banned? I like building things and watching other people build but have no interest in ass whooping :pac:

    Give it a break lads... Sever is only up less then two days, of course there is going to be a few issues.

    Guys, there is bound to be a few problems with the server after completely updating Minecraft and all the plugins.

    Its not like there is a boards support team trying to fix these problems, its dec and dec alone. Give it a chance

    No point keeping quiet about it though, If the server crashes shouldn't dec know?
