Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Typical Ray today.

He was interviewing somebody about the Prime Time creche program. She was speaking very well for a few minutes making some good points and she said she watched the program on Monday night. Ray interupts her .. "Eh it was Tuesday night the program was on" Why on earth does he have to do that?

He was also reading out a text from some guy called Phil who texted in about something his child does. Ray read out the text and then muttered under his breath sarcastically , "how would you know Phil" and then moved on.

He just comes across as a proper w@nker

    That's not what I meant.

If somebody is presenting a 3 hour radio programme that has maybe 40-45 minutes of music as part of the programme, you would expect that they have some basic knowledge of music that extends beyond what they hear on day time radio or the X Factor/the voice etc.

Why? If she's not as in to music as other people, who cares. It's primarily a chat show, not a music show.

    But... it's a daytime show?

Surely the ideal knowledge of music would be daytime radio music? Not much good Mairead being into mega-cyber-death-punk-step when she's restricted in what she can play anyway...

Good for her if she has. Genuinely. Nice to see at least someone there making some effort to improve things.

I enjoyed the slot Ray did in Langtons, funny enough. Maybe that's what makes his show at times- the interrupting, silly things and so on. Kinda like 'Oh Ray, ffs!!!'?!

That is well out of order, her marriage ending was nothing to do with her broadcasting career.

Did her marriage end? Didn't know that. Anymore details?

Heard a bit this morning. They were doing something with an outdoor shower or something? Just awful stuff. Does anyone enjoy these visual "challenges"? Are we supposed to find it funny that they're forcing each other to do things that they're super uncomfortable with?

One positive from it was that once Will found out it was he who had to do it, he just went and did it. If it were Mairead or D'arcy they'd have been bitching about it for a half hour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,387 ✭✭✭eisenberg1

I caught the end of a section where I assume he had someone on telling a story about a smear test and on closing Ray says " and anyone who does not go for a smear test after hearing that is just a fool". Now I agree, it may not be too smart to not go for the test................but whats with the attitude?? I mean some people will have issues / reasons of some sort or another. surely some positive encouragement would make more sense......hold on, its Ray we are talking about.

The part of that I found strange was that, Ray has always said he would never make someone on his team do something that he wouldn't do himself. Hence walking over coals and glass like Mairead.

But he was never going to take that shower, so why let Will do it?

Did anyone hear ray with the lotto winners????
He told the woman she should get financial advice.sounded like he was trying to do the partner out of the money.

How's that? They were only going out three weeks and they had already decided to split the money between them as they had both bought the ticket. I'd imagine he said it to her because she sounded like she might have a smidgen of sense on her when it comes to all that money.

Did you listen to it though? It sounded more than that as he said the money was legally hers and she should get advice.

    tell me what's happening????

You've just been introduced to the new girl in work and you say "When's it due?" and she says "I'm not pregnant!"

Imagine that feeling and you'd be pretty much there with Ray's interview today, and for all his interviews for that matter.

From todays interaction between them, it seems that McSavage suggested that Ray thought he was more intelligent than he actually is.

McSavage also slagged off Mumford and Sons. He might has well have slagged off Ray's actual son;)

Which is quite a fair assessment. What time was it on?

    Edit:
DMS (paraphrasing): "I gave my dog away. He was a little terrier."
RS: "He was actually a terrier? Because that's a saying. I'd say it about my 11-month-old."

Any chance of a podcast of the McSavage interview? Missed it:mad:
Checked on Today FM website and the Chipper attack woman and agony aunt seem to be the only interviews?

He said something about their website being updated so podcasts wont work on it, try itunes.

It was the most painful interview since Reginald D Hunter, the way he brought up that McSavage said something about him a few years ago was really petty.

No its there, just go to the "listen back" (11th ) section and click on part 3 of the show and its roughly near the end somewhere from about 30 mins on.
