I did a Blood Diamond side mission, didn't know it was DLC, but did seem to be different from the rest now that I think on it, and I think I got all the pre-order stuff as well as whatever DLC cause I have the premium super nashwan version.

I think that was the name of it anyway, it came with the limited edition and I entered in the code too uplay and havent heard anything since :S

I forced myself to return to this last week. I'll admit the ****ty collect-a-thon side of the game has gotten its claws into me. The missions though are still just dull or irritating. Had what i assume is this games version of the "Weed Burning mission" with (odd) booming song and it just felt completely flat.

I still hate nearly all the characters. Hate the dialogue. And I really wish I could shoot those two pricks outside my house. The game engine is pretty, yet the world somehow dull. The animal attacks have gone from this cool little feature to something that's reminding me of the worst of Far Cry 2. "Spark" really is the perfect description for what's missing here.

im sick i payed full price on this and digitally (xboxlive). Its so lifeless and dull and everything is a chore. I quit playing a month ago and dont think i'll ever return to it.

    Finished the story,

Why do these far cry games finish with ****ed up ending!!!! Grrrr. Me wants a normal happy.

So last night I captured Pagan Min's Fortress (was actually the easiest of the lot by far, but I did walk into a couple of mines on my way).
I appear to have finished the last Hurk mission as I now have a Harpoon launcher in my inventory.
I picked a leader for the Golden Path - I have literally no interest in this story, it did absolutely nothing to engage me whatsoever. I have zero fks to give about any of the people. The only reason I picked the person I did is because the other person wanted to blow an ancient temple up and frak that.
Got another piece of the Shangri-La puzzle done (enjoyed it, there was flying :))

It's all about the mechanics of the game for me I guess - in the absence of an engaging story, what else do you have?

What weapon combos are people going for?

The Buzzsaw is a must have for me, as is the Shredder. After that, I'll have either a Recurve Bow or the SA-50 sniper Rifle with all the attachments and in the south, a Warrior, but in the north, a modified P416 (Haven't unlocked that Bushman yet, goram Arena is slow). I usually have a silenced pistol or the grenade launcher as my sidearm.

I think the whole point of the Fry Cry games is your actions have consequences and life is not all rosy. You do what you think is right and hope for the best.

Yeah but I want the 'good' ending where I'm remembered as the ultimate hero with no flaws lol.

Hard to be the ultimate hero with no flaws when you start with so many.
Letting Pagan go and killing both the others is as close as you get I suppose

From talking to a lot of the lads I play other games with, this happened about 90% of us, I think there was just too much map and it felt overwhelming

Is the yeti dlc worth it?

I finished tyhe story mode and then got the whole game to about 75% and traded it on here. I didn't like the racing submissions and my online connectivity is crap so couldn't bring it any further than that.

Yeah and most of the early missions are grand but nothing blew me away, the characters dont seem to have much about them either, must give it a few more hours at weekend and hope I catch onto it again

Is the yeti dlc worth it?

It's not bad, but not essential. Essentially you are playing a compressed version of the main game with snow and reskinned enemies. The yetis themselves are the only new element. The stronghold defense missions are fun and challenging though.

Completed it yesterday and got the 7 trophies. Now all I need are the two co-op trophies to platinum.

I picked this up cheap the other day and while not as good at 3 it is very enjoyable. Certainly much more than Far Cry 2 anyway :) A well spent $30

I finished the story last night and overall I enjoyed it. There is one thing however that annoyed me. I think they over did the levels where your character is hallucinating. They were boring and added nothing to the game. I also felt it could have been a bit harder. There is still lots to do though so I will tip away at those. I do hope that there is a fifth installment as I enjoyed all of them so far, even the less loved Far Cry 2. It wasn't fabulous but at the same time it wasn't the mess some people seemed to think it was.

How does one check which of the side quests you have actually done?
I'm talking about this Kyrat Races, I can't see anyway on the map of identifying which ones I've actually done compared to which ones are outstanding.

The Kyrat Races, because they're replayable don't disappear off the map (as you know), which is a pain. The only way to see which ones you have done is to spawn at the outposts, walk over to the table and if there are ticks next to the gold, silver or bronze, it means you've completed them already.

That's the only way unfortunately. I blitzed all the Kyrat races and survivals in one go (had to spawn at camps from North to South to keep track of which ones I'd done). Had them all done in an hour thankfully.

Just have to get those stupid co-op trophies now.

I have a code for Hurks Redemption from the Limited Edition that I never used. First one to PM me gets it, must have over 100 posts. It's the PS4 edition.

Almost finished this i'm on north side of the map and have 2 story missions left AFAIK. As others have said its a funny game, it looks and plays great (there's times where the graphics are jaw dropping) but there's just something missing. I loved FC3 and i think the thing thats missing is the story or lack there of. In saying all that i stopped playing this and sunk 70 hours into bloodborne and now going back i'm actually enjoying it more not really sure why.

I do think they threw a little too much stuff on this game there's literally too much to do the amount of collectables alone are insane. Here's hoping they work on the story more for the inevitable FC5

I'm actually forcing myself to finish it and finding it a tad painful. Not sure why, but I'm just not looking forward to unwinding on the couch and playing an hour or two on my off days as I would with other games... but I can't put my finger on it. I think it's because once you've done one assassination, or fort, or mission... well, there's no variation I guess.

Same here..... it's just too big.... Like I'm pretty much max level and haven't even done this Key to the North Mission the game keeps harping on a bout

Also the guns make this game a piece of pi$$ compared to the last one. Getting those signatures and 1 arm grenade launcher means to can just go into Besereker mode if you miss an Arrow.

Would it be because of the characters in the game?

that grenade launcher is a gamebreaker for sure. Pagans wrath convoy are a piece of p1ss with it. Its very rare that you actually get caught out when stealth fails, its almost easier to just rambo it.

I have to agree with this. Loved 3. 3 was a spectacular game and it's one of the last games I remember rushing home to get maximum gameage in. I haven't finished 4 either. I'm just after getting to the bit
Where you 'kill' Pagan Min but it's not actually him.
Do I have much to go?

Played some more of this, just did the
Escape from the Durgesh Prison mission
    there, that was quiet cool

Is there anything the ole 1-handed-grenade launcher/recurve bow/shredder combo cannot resolve? :pac:

Also am i just dumb or is there no silenced sniper rifles in the game?

I can't remember tbh , Is there not a silencer as an add on that you can buy?

Not that I can see, they are all greyed out. Pffft Like I need a 4th Game-Breaking weapon anyway :P

There is one available , you have too complete 4 armoured truck missions to unlock it but it doesn't look great :s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 704 ✭✭✭frisbeeface

The Z-93 can have a silencer attached and is stupidly powerful. Actually kinda spoils the game because it kills everything in one hit to the body except rhinos which take 2.

Only got around to playing this now .few hours in .find it a bit simplistic .familar enough mechanics .ye spend much hours getting through this ?

This game is a tenner at the moment. Is it worth buying? Not just for the price but in general, I loved far cry 3! Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,507 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

For a tenner? Absolutely. This was easily one of my favourite games from the last few years, spent countless hours playing it to completion.

Definitely worth it for that, especially if you liked FC3.

I got the AIM gun from Robocop from Uplay yesterday.

Bit of fun to have it, but still use my re-curve box 90% of the time.
