Well first off, how much is the cute going for?

I think they a gorgeous cab but they demand a high price, usually around the 1200 mark. For that price you could buy 2 of another cab

The cute is going for 1500 haven't see one below 1750+delivery anywhere else and they seem to be rare.
I'm limited for space so the cute sort of suits my needs im just a bit weary of getting replacement parts if needed are parts hard to come by are they reliable enough?

Well I dont have one so I'm not really the man to ask, Casey120 has a cute as far as I know so I'd get his advice on it.

If I did have the money though I would 100% get one, I think they are a smasher of a machine. Any pictures of the said cute, resprayed or anything?

I suppose the major concern with spare parts is if the monitor itself goes tits up.

Otherwise the power supply, buttons and joysticks can be replaced.

You can get repro wiring, control panels and marquee holders easily enough generally.

Replacement artwork might be tough though.

Oh and the monitor chassis can usually be repaired or serviced.

My main concern with a cute isn't so much replacement parts, it's the comfort of the cab itself.

They look brilliant but have heard they're not the most comfortable things at all to play. Casey120 would definitely be the man to ask.

There are a few other mini type cabs if you're interested in looking about. I've two candy cabs with 25 in monitors and they're far smaller than the more modern 29 inch ones. Definitely a good size if you're limited in space.

Even then, the Jaleco Pony 25 is far smaller than the SNK 25. It's also super comfortable to play and is a bit cheaper than a Cute :)

The monitor going would be one of my fears I seen somewhere people saying they couldn't be fixed?
I agree they a smashing looking cab if expensive tho but I have been looking for a while and the size is a big factor,I have some rare aes stuff I can offset against purchasing the cab

If the monitor goes it'll more than likely be something on the chassis. So you'd just need to remove it, pop it in the post and send it off to the UK to be repaired.

I do remember Casey120 picked up a spare chassis just in case!

    Hey oisin
In truth I have been lurking here for a while seems like a great community,i also had a look at urbanledge's naomi he had for sale a few weeks back,I seen your cabs lovely I like the jaleco was interested in a pony iv but any small cabs seem to be hard to get.
How uncomfortable is the mini to play on anyone played on one besides casey?I've never seen one in person.

    Can I post pics?

I've never played/seen one in Ireland. Actually I don't know of anyone in Ireland who has one. Pretty rare to come across!

I'm making some assumption about comfort based on the shape of the cab itself. It's more designed for a kid to stand at.

With low cabs you really do need a bit of a tilt back on the monitor.

The SNK SC19 might be another good option for you. Unfortunately it's equally as expensive though!

You can see the monitor angle differences between the SC19 and the cute in this photo

Again, I'm just guessing though as I've never played one! So don't let me spoil your dream :)

Here's a good vid just to show you how much space is available for play.

Haha so my kids can sit at the cab while I use my aes sticks off to the side

New sitewide rules have come into effect which mean to post links/images, a user has to have 50 posts or more. Not something that'd take you long to reach, especially in this forum :)

Its a donky kong replica Ive been working on for ages.
Should be ready by sunday I hope.
Also should be very easy on the eye :)

    1500 is big money man,
For that money shes want to be a 100% mint stunner.
you could nearly buy a "custom" mame cab off donedeal for that sort of money..........(that is a joke)

screen is toshiba chassis sanwa i agree the cp does look rough all the edges are in a bad way.
Guy also said screen is buzzing a little bit but all mini cutes he has sold are the same .
Would it be easy to enough to fix up cp?

buzzing is a total head wrecker.
My BC buzzes/ticks unless I have a chopstick wedged in it.
    Wheres it fom anyways?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,773 ✭✭✭Jack burton

Looks the bees knees but that cp is rough, for the price you would really want a minter. That's just what I think. Anything else coming with it, spare chassis etc.

Monitor looks good in terms of no pin cushioning etc but I agree with urban, a few pics with no flash would be nice to see

I love the look of the neo geo back there.

    Id rather the neogeo anyday,
    monitor angle is very important.

I'd love to see a chart of how much floor space each cb takes up.
A mini cute is hardly half the size of a blast is it?

Is it really that much of a space saver over a Naomi/nnc/bc etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 131 ✭✭paul79

I have asked for the pictures of the monitor in the dark no flash.
Unfortunately neo geo is in the same realm of price/rarity :-( as the cute would cp be an easy fix buttons and sticks aside?
Is the cute a big space saver over other cabs thats a good question anyone?
    Opinions on an atomiswave cab?

Atomiswaves are your bread and butter candy. A fine cab by all rights with a tri sync monitor afaik. Don't think they get the same love because they ain't Sega, Taito, snk or captor hence they can be had for a good few quid less.
    Same body as e2

  • Registered Users Posts: 131 ✭✭paul79

Not half the size but a fair bit smaller than the blast.

    Blast City

    Rotatable: Yes

    Cute
    Type: Sitdown

You played my Pony 25 didn't you?

Looks like the cute is actually a bit bigger dimension wise!

    Cute
    Dimensions: 500 x 690 x 1300 mm

    Pony 25
    740 x 600 x 1060 mm

I guess it has that whole height thing going on.
