Actually compared to other categories like Business or Arts even its not such a huge amount. Although I am surprised by such popularity of Medicine. Personally I never saw it appealing, but that's only my opinion, obviously.
Why do you guys going for it? Just interested :) any other reasons apart from interest in it?

If I decide to do it it'll be with the aim of becoming a psychiatrist. I'm really interested in psychiatry and I'd love to be able to make a difference where psychiatric disorders are concerned, there's so much guesswork and trial and error in their diagnosis and treatment at the moment.

Also guys, could you take the talk of the institute somewhere else? It's really off topic and irrelevant here.

Oh and I should probably give you a proper answer :P

Eh, I find the whole area super interesting. I think the work medical professionals do is amazing. And helping people is like, all I want to do (clichéclichécliché)... I just want to find people who aren't well and make them better! That's how I get my kicks :P :P

If I was going for medicine it'd be to help people and all that. Sadly the sight of wounds and body parts makes me queasy, and I'm terrible at biology and chemistry. :pac:

Cause my parents told me to, obviously...

In reality it's the research opportunities that's my favourite part of the profession, few other jobs give you research opportunities with a high employment rate...

hard to tell with the extra points for maths.. percentile should be a good indicator though. if you're in the 80+ percentile range, with that good a l.c you're a shoe in

My cousin just found out he qualified there a few days ago. Had his clinical and didn't get a call back so its sort of a done deal. That has me even more determined to get in now.

I know what you mean, those Australians have no understanding of weather-based scoring. That's why 200/300 is an exceptional score, 300 is Australian weather!
