Unfortunately I did not take down the serial number, I had only bought it yesterday :(
Serious bummer. If you bought it from a bike shop, they will probably have the serial number on their records. Was it locked to anything?

Yeah real bummer, only been living in Dublin a week too! Nah unfortunately it was off donedeal and the previous owner doesn't have a copy of the serial either :(

When I reported it to the Garda and I mentioned a few things on the bike that are quite unique and quirky that you would notice if you had a real good look at it, but I guess at the end of the day if it does appear with no serial number it would just be word against word.

Is this your own, any marks or scratches you might remember to help identify

That looks entirely different. Tri set up and not single speed someone hardly went to the trouble of adding those bits

Same bike and colour but unfortunately does not look like mine. Mine has no stickers at all, is a single speed / fixie and has smaller regular handle bars.

Thank you so much for the heads up though!

    Hi folks,

My wifes brand new Lapairre Trekking 200W bike was stolen around 7.10pm last night from outside Aldi in East Wall. A very bright blue so hopefully easily identifiable

    Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure if this strictly belongs here as I cant for sure say the bike was / is stolen but I spotted this Giant DEFY bike locked to a traffic light pole at coast road end of Castle Avenue, Clontarf at beginning of June. It was locked to the pole for 5 - 7 days in a very prominent location and I reported it to the guards who collected it and who issued me with this photo.

Can anyone who thinks they recognise the bike contact Clontraf Garda station to help them identify the owner.

The bike was found as per the attached image with the frame fractured in 3 places.

    thanks.

    Ridley X-Bow. Shimano 5700 105 10 speed. Size XXS.

Stolen from the secure bike parking for staff at St.Vincent's Private Hospital in Dublin. The storage area is secured by a passcoded gate, but the **** was let in by someone leaving...

Anyway, it's all stock as per the product photo. The only distinguishing features are it's a size XXS, has a women's saddle fitted, SPD pedals and still has the CX tyres on it.

If anyone finds this bike, please contact me at once, a small reward will be offered for its safe return.

I just saw how about one hour ago 2 scumbags stole a bike in Smithfield, around 22:00 on Wednesdey night. It was from the rack very close to luas rail. They just broke the lock and throw the helmet and gloves to the ground.

I know its a very vague description, but they were 2 guys: a middle age man around 30-years old with short blonde hair, with some extra kilos, and a kid with black hoodie.

What pissed me off is they just broke it in 5 seconds and then he was cycling around for 3 or 4 minutes, just coming and going around the luas rails.

I feel so sorry for not doing anything, actually it happened really fast and to be honest I dont know if I would tell them something if I had a chance. Luas stop was full and none of us did anything...

Its so terrible they steal bikes so easily here in Dublin, oviously garda dont want to deal with it. Im just thinking what happens now if that person need the bike to go to work or to school...

I like this country, but its so bad in this kind of things. Ireland is not fighting this kind of crime who affects everyone, its like nobody cares. I feel so sorry for the owner.

Well thats it, just wanted to leave this written somewhere.

That's weird! When I followed the link last night I was sure the thread said 2015. Now it says "yesterday 22.45"! The internet is haunted!

Owning a bike in Dublin I knew it was only a matter of time before I was posting in this thread but here goes. 3 thieving scumbags made off with my 3 year old Specialized Sirrus from an underground carpark on James St at 3am this morning. They cut through 2 large locks to get to it (i've just found out they stole some bikes the previous night and returned for more last night, mine included)

The bike is painted with matte black stove paint and looks fairly tatty (in a bid to make it more difficult to sell should it be lifted).
It has a non standard rear pannier rack.

I know I'll never see it again but thought I better report/post anyway.

Anybody invested in a gps tracker for their bike? Was considering one for my next purchase after having 2 bikes stolen in recent years
This looks like a good idea https://www.sherlock.bike/en/device-app/
