Don't know if there is context to this post, but it still made me laugh anyway.

    I need sleep.

Harking back to Diaz 1(which in MMA is a lifetime ago) is always confusing to me, along with the McTapper name he gets tagged with which even Khabib alluded to. It truly shows how great he is.

It reminds me of those videos on YouTube which show Mayweather almost getting dropped :D! They have a million billion views too.

    Clutching at straws.

For reference; GSP tapped, Big Nog tapped albeit too late. Maybe it's more acceptable to the masses to prevent a limb break than it is to prevent being choked unconscious?

Amateur Hour not having 2 belts ready..
Just to clarify this, they only had one belt because that's all that was on the line. Conor's FW belt is presumably back in Dublin

Yeah Dana White posted on twitter to clarify that they didn't drop the ball on that one, it was his own belt to bring in as it wasn't on the line. So his own guys left it behind them.

Anyway got my few hours sleep now, can't wait to watch it back later tonight :D

christ almighty I was a wreck watching it. post fight he said his hand was hurt, hence the behind the back thing (thanks conor, I have no nails left after that). It reminded me of weidman v Silva so I was screaming at the TV given what happened there. Also considering the MSG location and history, I thought , that will make an amazing black and white photo some day, Junior looking at the father in a book, hands behind the back, making history.

jesus he made it look like it was easy, I actually didn't see one or two punches they were that fast.

    amazing...still shaking here. amazing indeed.

Fantastic performance from Conor, so controlled, it looked like the occasion got to Eddie. Conor looks so calm in there. Those prediction Eddie's chin to be suspect were proven right.

Amazing achievement, by one of our own. Congrats to Conor and his team (Hi John!).

That was f*cking deadly. F*cking. Dead. Ly.

Controlled everything, stopped Eddie from doing his thing, remained extremely calm throughout, stopped the takedown attempt, used that front kick to keep the distance and nailed the combo when the chance came up.

On the replay a few posts back, the f*cking slap you can hear off the shots.

    Deadly.

The combination to finish was a beautiful thing.

Hopefully he eats nothing but salads and defends against Aldo next, with either Edgar, or Holloway after that.

Then drop the FW title and concentrate on clearing the LW division to cement his place as the UFC (arguably MMA) GOAT.

He posted it on his facebook publicly. Its not like he directly told you in private

That's what i meant. Had jars in me last night. Not like he called me in person ffs. May have WORDed my post wrong :-D

Just watched the fight. Conor demolished him.

Eddie showed great heart to keep getting back up and trying for those take downs.

Alvarez' wife was very annoying, screeching like a kettle the whole fight.

How many fights are left on his contract? After MacLife we should have MacFight, McGregor Fighting promotions :D Instead of looking to buy into the UFC he should set up his own one

Here is my thinking of things. I think conor should fight in march (possibly paddy's day). Then take some time out to do the father thing. It's looking like msg for November 2017. Love to see conor on this card again. Not sure who I would like to see him fight in March but I reckon it will be kahbib in November.

you sure that that wasn't Conor's niece, she was screeching like a banshie all fight

Oh right, I read that is was Alvarez' wife.

If it was McGregor's niece I hope they bring a muzzle the next time she is in attendance!!

A multi-billion dollar business, not preparing for that contingency by having two belts on hand for the absolutely monumental occassion (and all the photo op/marketing benefits it brings) that was likely to occur, is just insane from an organisational perspective.

Whatever Dana says publicly to deflect, you can be sure there will be words with someone over that.

Two belt emoji is probably being developed as we speak!

It's a bad state of affairs when the fighter has more marketing sense than the UFC. They should have been all over that with the two belts ready to go. Jesus it's basic stuff.

    Absolutely correct.

So according to Dana, if the champion doesn't bring the belt with him, the challenger wouldn't have a belt to collect if he won?

That was such a school boy error on their part.

I would pick Tony, much more active. Would be a good lead and he can fight too

Same here, I could have had the 2nd round KO for 6/1 and should have laid it after Kav came on the thread here a few days back and tipped it as likely. But I chickened out and just took a 4/5 bet for McG to win overall :o

It's funny because I remember on the Embedded's for UFC 204 Bisping calls Dana and says something like "I know it's a stupid question, but do I actually bring the belt over with me?"

Do you not think that Conor has a better chance at beating Khabib than Nate? I mean the only reason Conor struggles against Nate is that zombie chin, Conor could sleep Khabib if last night was anything to go by.

wonder where we go from here! if i was in charge itd be mcgregor aldo 2 with khabib ferguson co main for the no.1 contender. making him drop a belt now would be silly from the ufc. here you have the biggest draw in the history of the sport and if hes willing to fight in and draw his considerable exposure to two divisions you're crazy not to let him imo.
