If you throw up an example please explain what point you are making. For example "Look at Sweden" means nothing unless you say what you are looking at in connection with Sweden. Is it restrictions, is it deaths, is it infections?

Hinting or implying that other users are re-regs is against the charter. It is strongly advised that you report posts and let the mods deal with it.

We get the fact some of you bare dissatisfied with the performance of the Chief Medical Officer, NEPHT, members of the Government and indeed some of the experts you may pay attention to on TV, radio or indeed the print media

We also get the fact that some of you like to let off steam in this and indeed other threads in the forum

However repeatedly stating your dislike/hatred of such people and abusing them here is not only irritating to posters who like to interact in a civil manner, but it's also highly offensive to the individuals in question. Can posters just refrain from resorting to such commentary as it not going to achieve anything beyond winding up (ie trolling) other users and attracting mod attention

Great point, but sure they were always political, still its another great move by Tony Holohan, they thought they had boxed him into a corner and that again he would be overly cautious but he went the other way. He even gave the go ahead to reopen nightclubs which the politicians were studiously avoiding even mentioning . They probably stall on opening nightclubs until next weekend given that they not reopen in North until Wednesday

The reatrictions being removed are far in access of anything we've seen before. If you can't be optimistic about that happening given huge case numbers and low hospitalisations then I'm not sure when you will be optimistic.

If your concerned about the potential new variant emerging, make the most of the relative levels of normality coming your way

Which is correct, it hasn't.

But it is incredibly unlikely that M Martin will decide not to follow NPHET's lead, it would be political suicide to do so.

Thats true of 'the extremists of both sides' for want of a better term. I mean look at this thread, its dominated by posters like yourself daily ranting against the govt a and NPHET, it's totally misrepresentative of society at large. And anyway from my experience the people who were most engaged and agitated by the whole thing were the sceptics, the anti vaxxers etc, most people i know just got on with their lives as best they could. However i suspect some of the sceptics and anti vaxxers will find some new populist cause to give meaning to their sad ignorant lives. (not including you or any other posters in this btw), RTE, immigration, crime and punishment, climate change sceptisim, we know the drill by now

Quite a Turn for the Books and great news, I sense CMO had run out of road essentially. Intriguing no howls of frustration, anger and annoyance this latest letter was leaked 🤔

I'm sensing a few early retirements, Book launching & tours and speaking events.

It's been a farce really, since December, Guess work at best re latest figures on cases.

Its still going to be a challenging few months ahead for Hospitality and retail sectors but nonetheless positive news.
