As a unvaccinated citizen I have availed of everything this year I’ve been to pubs/restaurants numerous times, overseas football games and a foreign sun holiday.

I will be going away for a couple of days break soon down the country and another one planned for the end of year all the while unvaccinated eating and drinking with my vaccinated fellow citizens, follow the science.

They can keep the pass forever, it won’t make a difference to my life it’s back to 2019 for me.

    Nobody was vaccinated in January.

Great to see it. Rural locations have been like that for a long time now. My local haunts in suburban Dublin are doing similar.

Very well put and its really quite extraordinary that all the experts have by way of explanation (blame) is absurdly claiming a very small percentage of the population at fault. Not once have I heard mention from experts about the large percentage of this cohort that can't be vacinated and never will. I know a few and they are absolutely cautious and act completely responsibly, not just for the sake of their health but others. I personally believe there's at least 100k people in Ireland that can not be vacinated and on top of that many children won't be.

I'm absolutely pro vaccine, got my 2 doses and in a very high risk category, likely needing a booster which I'll accept when offered.

The hounding of the people who have taken a decision not to get vaccinated for whatever reason is a great shame on this nation. The stench of fascism is rampant in Ireland at present.

I agree. Most people won't notice much of a difference the day after the 22nd. Masks still in retail and on public transport. Certs still needed to get into the pub.

This is exactly the problem under current rules you are not supposed to be able to visit Pubs Restaurants but of course our responsible hospitality industry are enforcing all the rules 🤣

I completely agree and it's despicable particularly when most people with common sense know exactly what the problems are

The unvaccinated minority are a problem for the Health Service.Because we have done nothing to improve it.In the grand scheme of the big picture, they are not really a problem but our Health service is in such a state it can't even cope with that 8% or so.

That's just not being said, it's easier to brush that under the carpet and make it sound like it's the population's fault

Common sense has gone out the window and the outrage is turned up to ten. Irish people love to punch down whilst doffing the cap to their supposed betters.

It will be interesting to see where the NPHET members Pension Pot's lie.

Far from facing disbandment,it now appears this group are now well and truly embedded in Irish Public Administration.

I would not be at all surprised at a quick legislative move, probably in a deserted Dáil chamber,to raise NPHET's status to Statutory, thus giving them the cloak of Power which sits just outside their grasp for now.

At some point, they will overstep their mark, and at that point invite some closer scrutiny of their backstories.....It's ALL about the money !

They are not letting go of this...unless forced into it 🙄

The approximately 8k living in emergency accommodation might wish to disagree, as to will those on Illness benefit, newly claiming JSA, those on JSB and let's not forget WFP to name but a few payments that don't qualify for fuel allowance. to suggest the fuel allowance heats a home is absurd and to actually qualify for it numerous hoops to be jumped through. Not entirely sure the need to bring SW recipients into the mix, most of whom are on Illness or pension related payments.

What I can't understand is now, with over 90% of adults vaccinated and all thats happened in the last 20 months, this virus can still hunt down and target the minority who for various reasons aren't vaccinated to the point that they're the reason for not opening up now.

Currently, or for the last few months, I haven't heard or know anyone with it let alone end up in hospital with. Bar the very early days, I haven't hidden away from it and wouldn't be classed as following the guidelines to the letter of the law and to the best of my knowledge haven't had it.

I'd just love to know the true story about a lot of these hospitalisations and icu cases because I don't believe we're being given the real picture.

Indeed, that particular response seems indicative of a mental state FAR more worrying than any Virus, however it's not that uncommon in the Ireland we now inhabit.

Sadly,it is this collateral mental damage which is now likely to endure long after Covid has killed both Vaxxers and Anti-Vaxxers in equal measure.

This stuff will not respond to vaccinations and therapies, but is likely to spread far out into the population in general leaving us all in a far worse state than we could ever have imagined.

Going on the airwaves as well.

Not a fine moment for a principal. She could have dealt with it a bit more discretely.
