Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Capcom character changes for UMvC3. Damn them, they removed Trish's trap buffs and nerfed her useless flight mode.

    Viewtiful Joe
    - Reduced hittable area when in the air.

Make the smallest character in the game even smaller. Classic Capcom balance changes.

    Slightly increased priority of Hyakuretsukyaku.

I was just thinking, lightning legs is too weak and needed buffing

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,022 ✭✭✭Naphiel

Zero got a health buff, which is good.

Haggar's Cr.H is an OTG, which is silly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 378 ✭✭stev0knev022

Why does sentinel still have less health than wesker.

My entire team got hit by the nerf stick it seems :P

I was considering Iron Fist anyway (loved his fighting style) and the fact that he seems to have a great assist that's really hard to punish has definitely got him a temp spot on my team, might build around him. No one else has really stood out to me ('cept Doom, obviously).

Would like to keep She-Hulk, but we'll see how she plays come release.

My team definitely going to be DANTE/VERGIL/X, the actual reason I never got into MVC3 was because (mainly out of laziness of learning 2 other characters) I COULD never decide on a team, at least with Vergil now I have a definitive 2 :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,888 ✭✭✭Fergus_

    Chris/Jill/Wesker or Wright/Wesker/Jill

Ah yes, Vergil looks like a total beast, I might give him a try when this drops!

  • Registered Users Posts: 86 ✭✭wtfbenson

Vergil does look like a lot of fun even and I can't wait to give him a shot. For me though, I'm 90% positive my team is going to be Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Strange. They all seem like such fun characters with a lot of potential, especially Iron Fist's nearly instant full-screen wall bounce kick assist.

I think I will play the Raccoon. Or try to. He looks great.

Team Dog, Raccoon and Joe. Team horrible hit boxes.

Will definitely be giving Rocket Raccoon a whirl, looks fun and that burrowing move looks trolltastic. :D

    So teams I'm interested in using in UMvC3 are;

Doom / Rocket Raccoon / Dorm
    Doom / Trish / Dorm
    Nova / RR / Dorm

I think you can see pattern emerging with regards on who I want to anchor my team! :pac:

That said, I'll still try all the characters.

Sly Raccoon sounds so gdlk, definitely a character I'm gonna be trying out.

X-Factor sounds like its still going to be a problem, just less dumb with lvl 3 being nerfed. I never liked the sound of air XF, and they confirmed my fears saying that air XF guard cancel leads to easy punishes.

    HUD placement is retarded.

Gamernash was doing a pre order a while back on this thread but if you're not comfortable with that theres always gamestop online?

Get the game for 24.99 I believe and if your add express delivery you get it on the day or before release

The majority of us are trying gamernash I believe

Ah ok, I thought the Gamesnash thing wasn't happening cause 25 needed to be ordered. I'd prefer to do that cause it worked out well last time.

    All the alt images here:

    http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/nov/13/high-resolution-umvc3-dlc-alternate-costume-images/

Some of those are really great.

I can't believe they referenced Yellow Iris for Felicia's alt.

Got it today thanks to the mighty shopto.net. Ghostrider is going to be my point man I think. He's awesome.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,868 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

Here's a run down of the Marvel alts for those who don't read the comics.

Im not encyclopaedic though so there are gaps...

Cap: Head of Shield uniform from when he was reborn after civil war.

Deadpool: bodysliding (two person teleport) with the infamous Cable, as happened in their shared comic.

    Dorm: Not too sure.

Doctor Doom: Wearing the armour he used in the secret war when he stole the power of the beyonder.

Dr Strange: He looked like this on the astral plane for a while for a reason which escapes me.

    Ghost Rider: No idea.

Hawkeye: Dressed as his alter ego, the kick ass Ronin. FTW.

Hulk: Dressed as the green scar, the king, from world war hulk. Hopefully he will have his sword :)

    Iron Fist: His modern costume.

Iron Man: The Iron Patriot, actually Norman Osbourn (the first Green Goblin) wearing a stolen set of armour mocking Tony and Cap when he was in charge of Shield.

Magneto: I think it's his clothing from House of M, an alternate reality where he ruled the world. Wish Scarlet Witch was in MvC.

Modok: A couple of influences, the modok corps and magnanimous from Megas XLR- Groovy.

Jean 1- her 90's costume from the X-Men's blue and gold era.

Jean 2- Either a homage to the 2nd Phoenix or her future costume.

Rocket Racoon: His costume from the 80's, as drawn by mike mignola of Hellboy fame occasionally.

Sentinel: How they looked in the old days :)

    She Hulk: Being an attourney.

    Shuma: Ew. No idea.

Spidey: Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider, clone of Peter.

Storm: 80's Mohawk no powers ninja kick ass punk Storm.

Skrull: I THINK that's what Skrulls wear when they're chilling.

    Tasky: Modern costume I think.

    Thor: Original Costume.

Wolverine: Escaping from the weapon x labs that put in his claws.

X-23: X force or some other generic X team uniform :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭UberPrinny_Baal

There was a lot of information floating around on the web about this

Shuma: Quoggoth = Seperate entity Shuma created that rebelled against him and got it's ass(?) kicked for its troubles

    Skrull: Outfit from Annihilation arc

Task: Outfit he wears in Udon comics

X-23: She debuted as a character in the Xmen Evolution cartoon wearing this.

Wolverine: Escaping from the weapon x labs that put in his claws.

Weapon X escaping from the lab where they fused adamantium to his skeleton surely. The claws were already his.

After some pissing about in mission mode and training mode I've settled on my initial team of Ghostrider, Wolverine and Frank West. Only problem is I can't get a game online yet. Managed a set with an American player last night but he duffed me 11-0 on account of me being a total Marvel noob added to the not so ideal connection but it was fun. Much prefer the feel of this compared to vanilla.

Sairus, I believe that his and Jill's alt are unlocked by default when you buy the characters in UMvC3. So, if you already have them and they are imported in or you buy for UMvC3, you'll have access to them straight away.

    Got my copy.

    €35 in HMV

I didn't get a chance to check around more thoroughly, but there are NO stock problems for this like there were for AE. Dummy boxes have been around for ages.

HMV also assured me they were the cheapest brick and mortar, which I'm inclined to believe.

Cheapest brick and mortar for day 1 games are usually HMV or Smyths (with a loyalty card).

Cool, I had a HMV giftcard so I was going to get it there anyway.
Gamestop being cheapest without trade-ins is pretty unusual.

RRP is 30.00 for this lads. Smiths had it for 50 and I got it in Gamestop for 30.
