The Chillout Zone (Off-Topic Thread)

I think I know the charity you refer to, I had a very pushy guy call to my house recently trying to sign me up for donations.
I was in the garden with the dogs and cats all around me at the time and due to the fact my front door is on the side of the house beside a large gate into my garden, he could see us all.
When I said I prefer to donate to whom I choose, when I choose, he got very pushy and tried to enter my garden! Nearly letting my dogs out in the process, and got a bit stroppy when I told him to to get off my property and warned him if my dogs got out he'd be held responsible.
I got mad and pointed out I tried to home a dog from said rescue, they refused as I was too far away, I also called them to get a place for 2 pups I found, again they refused due to distance, so I will support a local rescue instead.
One that doesn't allow a company to collect on their behalf and keep most of the donation!


Just cut the grass and now the dogs have green feet!
Why do weeds grow so fast, got a good 3 hrs work ahead pulling them all.

Anniehoo I did email the charity, but got no response

Even more ironic then Mymo when twice you were refused on distance grounds by them, but their chuggers clearly didnt your house was too far away. :rolleyes:

No news on her yet, but it must mean she's managed to get through the night.

I cannot imagine how upsetting it is for a dog. I cannot imagine what goes through a persons mind. What sort of stupid sick person does that. If you MUST get rid then the pound is the least you can do.

So proud of my little boy today, he made his communion last week and decided that he wants to give some of his money to charity. We were in maxizoo this afternoon and Limerick feral cats were there so he gave them some of his money, and had lovely cuddles off the kittens!

I have been gardening for hours, ache all over, not half done either. Just came in and thought a cuppa with one of those lovely scones I got earlier would be nice.Put kettle on and searched everywhere, but no sign of scones, then spotted the pack in the garden, Oliver is hiding from me, I wonder why?


That'll teach me to put shopping away, I should know by now, he's done it so many times.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes, the cake was just divine but I haven't had the heart to eat the cats off it yet! We had a bit if a breakthrough tonight, all 3 cats slept in the siting room at the same time, dude and cream on the couch and peach on the scratching post, while they were asleep dude and cream kept wiggling towards each other and eventually ended up cuddled together and when cream woke up he started grooming dude!! It made me so happy

There's not a chance I would be allowed sit/lie on the floor without either one of my dogs literally sitting on me to play. When Coco was a pup we tried to keep her off the couch by sitting on the floor for 'playtime'. Not a chance in hell did that last but the floor still means playtime!

Well it definately won't be as bad as last years one! It was so empty and my asthma was going mad from the smoke off that burger van - couldn't find anything, I really wanted to see the sheep dog demo but there was no time tables, no one to tell you where anything was..! So hopefully they are a bit more organised for this years one

Best thing to get rid of the stink is warm water with biological washing powder dissolved in it, rub well and rinse.
In my last house my neighbour had a Tom he refused to neuter that liked to spray up my front door or windows, he made it into kitchen a few times too, smells pretty bad.

Poppy's worked out a cue to let me know when she wants out for the toilet. She sits in front of me and jerks her head towards the backdoor. She did it for the first time last night and I popped her out and she done her business straight away. So proud!

What a day!! Wasn't it lovely.

Me too, I do love the bad weather we got too, a great excuse to curl up in front of a fire - but the sun coming out seems to perk everyone up. I really hope next weekend will be lovely too.

Dinner and coffee outside sounds great.

Boo I've the day off today and it's piddling rain! :mad:

Rain is awful here too, poor dude is going stir crazy being stuck in cos with the last few days being so nice he used to potter around the garden with me! Not a hope will I be going out in this!

I've wanted to change name for ages, and one of the mods was trying to sort it out, as its not usual for boards to allow it, but I got fed up waiting today, so closed the account and have a new one I think a lot of times people's posts are perceived by who it is posting, and that name says a particular thing so ....
