Seem to be, looks like he got a bunch of them in stock in March this year but the issue is getting funds to him in Russia as paypal isn't an option for some reason.
Maximum hdd size for the moment is 120GB, but that shouldn't be a problem. I've a nice little SSD drive that would work great if I got an adapter for it.

Surely the speed of a SSD would cause problems

Also is that a 2.5 drive or 3.5?

    Looks bloody brilliant though.

Before Retro gets ideas im sure nobody would ever think of doing this for a Cd-I:eek:

Console modifications are generally done to improve or unlock a potential feature that a console may not otherwise offer. Having a library of cd-i games plugged into a cd-i would be a massive no no...the console is fine in its powered off state. It only goes downhill from there, so keeping a cd-i away from games is the best thing you can do for it.

I don't need it. I've got my own 4 discs of concentrated evil. And to make it even worse, they're in 50 Hz.

I think you can get Compact Flash to IDE adapters and the likes iirc.

    Cheaper way of doing it.

There may be some other memory card converters also.

Seriously impressive though, especially that it supports ISO format.

I'm eventually getting around to selling this 29" 15/25/31kHz (Tri-Sync) Samsung Arcade Monitor I took from my Egret 3 a good while ago. It's been well stored since then but since I've not been able to trade it I've decided to stick it on adverts.
Comes with a working Wei-Ya 3129D Chassis as well. Hopefully the price doesn't get me on the "Dreamer of the year (Arcade Edition)" thread :D

The old geometry issue it had was in fact a chassis issue and that particular chassis was dumped and the one I include here was a replacement I didn't need as I got another one.

Riddle me this, could I fit this into a Noami? For connecting to a PC, or would I need RGB for that?

Not sure on that. It was originally in my Egret 3 and after looking at the arcade otaku wiki I'd say you could.

    http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Sega_Naomi_Universal#Monitor

    Maybe someone else can confirm.
I've also got a new and unused Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card(the new type) that I found while removing some stuff from storage thats going up in the next few mins on adverts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,772 ✭✭✭Jack burton

Ah right, if I could get it into my Naomi I'd be very interested

This model is the c64G that was sold in Germany, so its not that rare and can be bought on ebay for about the same as the original breadbin model.

Although I can see how one would think it looks gold.
The gold c64, is almost competition pro colour gold! ;)

The german's being picky, didn't want the cost reduced c64c case,
so they had a cost reduced breadbin model built for them instead.

So it has the 8580 SID too and not the older 6581.

There was also a C64 Aldi also, which was a c64g sold specifcally in the Aldi stores.
I was only outbid on aldi yesterday, although it wasn't something I particularly need!

The only identifiable difference between the 2 is that the Aldi retained the extra chracters on the side of the keys, just like the old breadbins.

After doing some googling for the gold c64, a few Lemon64 threads popped up with gold c64 auctions.

Here's an unsolved mystery from 2009:
    www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30874

Here's a clearly fake one, it has a bronze colour and was only on auction a month ago:
    http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41935

In the first thread there's a mention of a "Drean" Commodore 64C model which has the C64 Aldi style keys, which I haven't seen on a c64C before.

    http://www.richardlagendijk.nl/cip/computer/item/drean_c64/en

    computer_c64c_drean_02.jpg

It was assembled by a company in Argentina of the same name.

There was also a Drean breadbin model:

    http://www.richardlagendijk.nl/cip/computer/item/drean_c64/en

    computer_c64_drean_02.jpg

The index of that Commodore Info Page is really worth checking out
as it lists all the models and variants of the Commodore computers, even the Commodore PC's:

    http://www.richardlagendijk.nl/cip/computer/index/-/en

It also shows each "Pack" of the commodore 64, such as the Hollywood pack..etc..
And now I've identified the one my parents bought in the 80s.

    The Light Fantastic pack:

    computer_c64c_light_fantastic_01.jpg

It also appears that the weird commodore 64 case I posted about a while back,
    is from an Australian model:

    computer_c64_australian_01.jpg

That page is a gem for commodore info.

    • PSOne console with PSU and cables.
    • Namco GunCon 1 - (Gun Con compatible Games)
    • Logic3 Light Blaster P99G2**
    • 1 PS1 Digital Controller
    • 1 *Possible* PS1 "Dual Analog Controller***
    • 2 memory cards

Games: V-rally 2, Ridge racer revolution, Time crisis, Time Crisis Project Titan, and Time Crisis Project Titan platinum, Point blank 2, and Who wants to be a millionaire junior.

Postage is £23.55 for everything to Ireland.

I know because I was going to try and buy this myself, but found some of the items i wanted on their own in other auctions, and this is a bit excessive for me!

I feel a bit guilty leaving it as the seller was extremely helpful and and answered a good few questions.
    .......................................................................................................

** The PP9G2 Light Blaster has proper recoil and a reload pedal like the arcades,
is said to be as accurate as the Namco GunCons, has a GunCon 1 + 2 compatibility mode, as well as a normal compatibility mode for older PS1 games like Die Hard Trilogy.

So it will play all PS1 + 2 games, except those that need a gun with a Directional Pad (like the Gun Con 2), such as Resident Evil Dead Aim + Code Veronica.

There's a few variations of the P99 including the P99D2,
which as the letter suggests, is the basically the same but with an added D-Pad, and the P99L Laser Blaster, which has a laser sight.

According to this insightful amazon review,
the P99D2 has stronger springs than the P99L Laser model,
which should be the same for the P99G2.

Which is good because the recoil isn't meant to last as long with the later models, not sure about this model.

List of Playstation Light Gun Games

    .......................................................................................................

*** This possibly is the PS1 Dual Anlalog Controller which came out before the Dual Shock controller,
has longer handles and actually has Recessed Thumbsticks like the Xbox 360 Controller.

It's hard to tell from the pic but if it is, they're not meant to be all too common.

If anyone does end up buying this, I'd be willing to buy one of the copies of Project Titan, Point Blank 2, and possibly V-Rally 2 & Ridge Racer Revolution.

And the Dual Analog Controller also, although I doubt anyone would sell that! ;)

You can never beat the original Time Crisis Arcade Guns + Pedals though,
and this chap managed to modify one to connect to his PS2!

Word of warning about these light guns mentioned btw....

They **WILL NOT WORK** on LCDs / Plasma TV's or 100Hz CRTs (not that 100Hz CRTs are that common here - I think)

I can see what you mean about it looking awful and really wanting it. Its sort of like getting the head of a large animal stuffed and mounted :D

Also: "game counselor"... wow that sounds wrong, and I'm not sure if its too Engrish or too moral panic brainwashing because its the sort of thing you'd see on the business card of a child molester.

It makes my brow furl, no sir, I don't like.
