Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My irish teacher called me out of class today to tell me just how disappointed she was that I got a B :L Apparently she felt so disappointed she couldn't look at the other results after she saw mine :L And then she started to insist that I get it re checked, even though I'm fairly certain it should have been a B. I don't even want to get it re checked but she won't take no for an answer so I don't know what to do :L

Get it rechecked! I'm getting my english reckecked as although I wasn't sure if i deserved the A my teacher told me I should still get it done. I'm hoping to move from a B to an A.

€32 per test to get it rechecked I think..
A lot of hassle but if you believe you did better then by all means go ahead.
I had work today and apparently my brother was called out over the intercom to get in a picture for the local paper (Mixing us up)
No idea why as my results weren't the greatest but it was random I guess, a few other lads were called too.

I think i will get History rechecked, maybe business or science too, but if I don't, its not like its gonna feck up what subjects/levels I want to take for leaving cert

The thing I'm taking out of this is that i am going to do after school study in school for 6th year cos I did nothing all year until a week before the JC cos I cant study and I get distracted

To check all them would cost like 96 euro though. History I'd check though, didn't you get like 95%+ in every test? :P

The one grade I was disappointed with was Science (I got a B but really wanted an A) and today my Science teacher said it to me and I said that I was hoping for the A so she made the suggestion of getting it re-checked. I'm not sure if I should, I'm positive I wouldn't go down a grade but maybe I just wasn't up to standard for the A but I was really happy with my test and put a load of effort into my investigation.

    Anyone offer any advice? :)

I'd thought I'd gotten an A in Science as well but got a B too. To be honest, I dunno if getting it rechecked is worth it. 32 euro and chances are the original result would be correct, especially if it's only a grade off what you'd expected.

    I think that anyway.

There's nothing wrong with being homosexual :). If you're gonna have a crush, at least have it on a famous person ;).

Only 10 out of my year doing it so we're doing it with the girls school 10 + 10 so a nice small class.
Anyone else *have* to go plouging next wednesday? ;/

YSI? Haha.. we had that, it was turned into "Arcade class" we're building an arcade machine xD
In our school a class is 40 minutes and there's 9 per day.
We've Chinese from 2 until 4 on Wednesday, love it so far!
I live in Carlow... Ploughing is like 20 minutes away...
I asked my year head why exactly we're going and she said.. It's a festival! Le festival! (Some stuff in French) and finally... Fer de BANTERRR!
I don't have school on Friday... Work experience!

Sigh.. Boards meet up anyone?

The YSI advocate program isn't the same as the YSI competition :) Only ten schools in Ireland have the program.

I think I may have organised a bus of people for the ploughing! :D #YES!

Just back from the Ploughing :D It was unreal :)

The last few days have been mental. We had a team building day (zip-lining is unbelievable. Honestly everyone should try it :O) and a YSI training day in Cork. I got voted chairperson on our YSI team and managed to secure a classroom (which is a very very hard in my school this year :P) and a timetable slot :) I joined the debating team and we've a workshop in UCC in a few weeks. I've gone to like two birthday parties last weekend and I've a wedding tomorrow :O On top of that my Leaving Cert classes are so busy! :o Biology and Chemistry have so much learning

How's everyone else been getting on? :)

115km cycle from Dublin to Brittas and back on Saturday with 80 other people in our year (out of 107) our coordinator says usually around 60 go with 4 dropping out so wonder how many will drop out and be picked up by the van. Also, after I cycled into school 15 days or more out of 20, the people who did that amount go on a trip, some people are saying we are going paintballing as thats what they did last year, if so it will be good craic, with around 50 of us going :D

Went to the ploughing as well, I thought it was great! Came home with loads of freebies and a €240 Gaeltacht scholarship! :0 My favourite was a tiny tree! XD Classes are super boring as we are doing very little and anything we are doing is too easy, I'm living for non-class school things! I found out yesterday that I'm class prefect and that I will be taking part in a peer ed. course (there were only 4 places for our school and about 60 TY'S) We will be going to causey farm in November. We have a genetics thing in W5 which I'm super excited about! I believe TY for me is only properly starting now because we did very little this month and it sounds like there are lots of great things in line for the coming months and plenty of workshops! :D
