Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The 6.99 a month

For Netflix? Well yeah you are always going to be charged after signing up for a months free trial. You have to give them your payment details to sign up for the trial in the first place.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,398 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

    The 6.99 a month

That's what Netflix costs, after the free months trial.
    I was charged too.

is unblock-us and netflix giving trouble?

or is just that my trial has expired?

how do you sign-up and how do they identify you if you're on dynamic ip?

It's looking like we're going to have to disallow talk of DNS workarounds etc... from here onwards as a result of Sean Sherlock's idiotic new copyright laws. Until we get a more in-depth answer, we're going to have to err on the side of caution.

    Sorry folks.

Basically to stop all the freeloaders you now have to run "check service" if you want to use Unblock US, its on there homepage. They put up no notice bout it. pretty annoying, if you have to do it every time you watch something

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,419 ✭✭✭allanb49

well shíte, so unblock has stopped us using there services already

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,642 ✭✭✭Luap

So once the free trial is over, they automatically deduct €6.99 a month?

Your meant to manually cancel your account before the month is up, otherwise they'll begin charging in month 2. No payment no access, simples.

The Irish netflix is no worth 6.99 a month.. the us one is.. Im using the playmo codes at the moment.. If I find I can't access the us content then Ill cancel..

We don't want to, but we'll have to start deleting posts from people trying to bypass regional restrictions. Please note we haven't deleted previous posts discussing such things.

If you have issue with this, please feel free to contact Sean Sherlock TD.

I don't know how much more obvious we can make it, but any discussion on how to bypass Netflix regional restrictions isn't allowed. This has been decreed by the admins, so please play nice folks.

Is there currently any way to create a 'Watch Later' list, be it on the site or a device? I know the recommendations, but I'd like to be able to see a film on the site and add it to a list so it reminds me to view it at a later time.

If you watch a film/programme for about 10 seconds, it will be in your recently viewed section.
    Only way I know of.

Is there any way to monitor your data usage on the ps3?
I only use Netflix on the ps3 and not on the laptop at all so no point in me downloading a tracker on the laptop.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 29,709 CMod ✭✭✭✭johnny_ultimate

You'll have to do the bandwidth monitoring yourself. Netflix's usage estimates:

"Good" - The default setting with good picture quality and lowest data use per hour (about 0.3 GBytes/hour)
"Better" - Better picture quality and medium data use per hour (about 0.7 GBytes/hour)
"Best" - Best picture quality and highest date use per hour (generally about 1.0 GBytes/hour - or up to 2.3 GBytes/hour when streaming HD content)

Solution: just move to UPC :pac:

    On the subject of upc...

Recently joined netflix and on upc myself.
In the small print of the "UPC unlimited package" it states its subject to fairuse, something like 250gb a month. Which is certainly alot. But hardly unlimited :pac:

Wonder what UPC would do if you went over the limit. As by juding from the usage you said its perfectly possible for a person to go over.
