I just hope that they remove the redundant 'searching for a lobby' that happened every time you entered the multiplayer part of the game. Only to be ejected from that lobby every single time and then actually added to a lobby with players in it. Frustrated me to no end.
Other than that, the changes sound like they are really going to make it into a total multiplayer experience. Enjoyed my time with it in Brotherhood (despite the frustrations) and I'd imagine that I could sink a lot of time into the new one.

Ya Kearney I really enjoyed the MP in Brotherhood but was well annoying on those loading screens. There was no such thing as a quick MP game! I'm sure I read somewhere that they were concentrating more on the SP experience this time, doesn't sound like it according to the vid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,618 ✭✭✭Mr Freeze

I wasn't very hopeful for the MP in Brotherhood, but I was happy to be proven wrong....It was one of the best MP games I have played to date, so refreshingly different from any other multiplayer game.

The only problems were, ya it was a pain to get a game with that lobby system but also, the lack of people playing a while after the games release. A real pity.

Yeah, I kept playing til I got to level 50 as I was going for the platinum, and I was a few months later starting the multiplayer as I didn't have broadband til mid-January as I moved house. But it did seem like a lot of people abandoned it by February or so.

Only had one trophy left for the platinum but it's the one where you can only really get it by boosting with other players to get all the bonuses. Feck it. Too much hassle (and I say that as a guy who collected all the Borgia Flags)

Finished Brotherhood there, looking forward to the next, they know how to get you excited for the next installment. I hope the online is still alive

It looks like some major explanations are coming in AC:Rev
    http://kotaku.com/5800970/assassins-creed-revelations-will-include-surprise-major-revelations
Some spoilers in there for those that haven't finished the first three games. But in fairness, if you haven't played them, then you'll have no clue as to what the hell they are referring to.

The Ubisoft dudes seem like smart hombres with an arse load of resources. Im sure (hope/pray) "Revelations" was a highly deliberate choice.

Really looking forward to them answering some questions and god help me im looking forward to them setting up AC III...

Interesting article on some of the locations in the new game. Seems really intereting especially
    An underground Cappadocian Templar city!!!!

    Great trailer.

Looks like they are getting rid of Altair and Ezio before AC3. So more than likely, a new assassin for the full sequel if this game seems to be tracing their last steps.

Or they might both get away in their respective timelines and live happily ever after. :pac:

That's an very cool trailer, especially the return to Masyaf. Ezio is getting on with age, but I really liked his character arc, hopefully it will be a good ending to his story.

Looks absolutely fantastic. Was always going to be a definite purchase for me as I loved AC2 and Brotherhood, but I'm going to take a few days off work for this one. Can't wait to play it.

This looks awesome! Glad your back as Ezio, and they may get to develop Altier more.

Been any mention of playing current day Desmond in this? Loved getting to run around the "current" world as Desmond.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,352 ✭✭✭funky penguin

Yeah apparently its between Desmond, Ezio and Altair.

Think I might be splashing out on the Animus Edition which appears to be a Gamestop exclusive. Although, it is €99. The encyclopaedia really gets my juices flowing!:D

I didn't and kinda regret it.

I will be pre-ordering this for sure.

I didn't pre-order the Codex edition and had a bit of trouble hunting one down afterwards but thankfully got one in the end. Totally worth it as it's a lovely set. My only gripe is that the chest was made out of plastic and not engraved in stone like I thought it would be

Can't believe I'm only reading this thread now.

The E3 trailer and gameplay look great. And I'm really glad to be getting back to Altair! I seem to be the only person who liked AC1. I agree that the side missions were repetitive, but the world was so immersive. And I kinda preferred the middle eastern setting to Italy, so I'm loving the setting in Constantinople for Revelations.

AC2 was the best of the three by far. Great story and loads of new gameplay features. I felt a bit disappointed with Brotherhood. Rome got boring, and I preferred the different cities layout they used for Ac 1 and 2.

Also, I'm glad they've stated that it's the end of Ezio an Altair's story. It means they'll have to do something fresh for the next one. I like the finality that this is gonna be the end of their story.

It will be a sad day when/if Ezio is killed off, he's defo up there as one of my favourite games characters(Snake being 1st). As a real history fanatic my favourite thing about the AC games is how they transport you back in time, the developers do such a great job on the reconstruction of the environments and landmarks.

Started replaying AC2 last night, then I'll move onto Brotherhood. AC2 still feels as sublime as ever, definitely one of my top 5 games ever.

Ye was thinking of playing AS 2 and Brotherhood before Revelations comes out. Brotherhood is defo one of my favorite games.

Just got the Platinum in AC2 this morning. Them feathers were a royal pain in the ass.

So am I. As much as I like playing the games, Brotherhood was AC2.5. Same plot as the AC2 DLC and that
    block of text
before the game's climax was BS. :p

Da Vinci's the one I'll miss. Since it's Constantinople, I'm hoping this gets in somehow but I've considered Ezio and Altair's story to been done since AC2.

I got the 360 equivalent for that too. I'm only 3 off the same for AC: Brotherhood but they are multiplayer based achievements that are next to impossible without boosting buddies.

Yeah, only missing one (well, before the additional trophies with The Da Vinci Disappearance, though I don't think they count for the platinum) in Brotherhood which, like you say, is pretty much impossible without boosting. Hate multiplayer trophies like that. I'd try it without boosting, but since the game has been out for a good few months now, most who are still playing it are too good to be able to get 15 different bonuses in one match against.

Have it sitting on my harddrive at the moment but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I'll get there, and seem like a fairly solid TV show too.

I do however I recently reached Level 50 and don't play as often anymore. My gamertag is "Seamarse" so add me if you want, I do play the odd session occassionally as it's still a fun game.

I wouldn't mind booting this up for a game if there was a gang of us, stopped playing after I got the 1000 in it, they went and released flipping DLC, when there was frig all left online playing.

The DLC has all single-player based achievements, and very easy ones to get as well.

For 800 points I think so. Multiplayer aside you get 8 new missions which I thought were enjoyable, plus one mission centres around that crazy bitch Lucrezia Borgia which is funny enough.

Also if you're into achievements, which your gamertag confirms :) , it's an easy 250.

Yeah, I got 1000 in AC1 and 2, but the multiplayer achievements are putting me off trying in Brotherhood. Which is a pity, I really enjoyed single player and multiplayer seems decent!

Renaissance and Brotherhood are pretty much the same as the games but with a few more bits thrown in, mostly about supporting characters.

The newest one, The Secret Crusade, is about Altair but about his whole life I think, so includes AC1 and what happened to him afterwards (like what he describes in the Codex). I've bought it but haven't read it yet

Have to agree. I bought it after seeing all the positive feedback about it and it literally managed to bore me to death within 15 minutes. I just think the ac series is not for me at all.

It was Assassins Creed 2.5. Gameplay was good because it was exactly the same as 2. Multiplayer was a nice touch but not executed as well as it could have been!

I don't think Brotherhood put itself as out there as anything other than Assassin's Creed 2.5, in the same that Revelations will essentially be 2.75.
