Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He has to be one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known, not just a stuffed suit like his wooden American counterpart. His steadfast resolve in the face of a proxy war being waged in Ukraine has to be admired, a war that would never have happened if billions weren't poured into Ukraine to kickstart a coup.

Like him or loathe him there is no doubt that Vladimir Putin is a very shrewd operator who is consistently one step ahead of the game.

Best leader they've had since Joe Stalin. A brand I trust. Appointed by a drunk. A thief supreme. A murderer of journalists.
Little known fact: he actually body doubles for rats in several b-list horror movies.

He can eat 6 double cheeseburgers in McDonald's without taking a drink . If that doesn't deserve appreciation I don't know what does

I like him because if ISIS made inroads into Europe he'd crush every last one of them.

He has sired several winning racehorses and has the pictures to prove it.

He reclaimed oil and gas from greedy foreigners back into the state hands, where resources for every country should be. How he did it was more cunning than a fox, but he did it.

It was EXACTLY that type of thinking that led to the likes of Hitler and Mussolini becoming so loved

He is a vile excuse for a human being.

A world leader who actually backs up his talk with actions. It's no wonder he's so popular in Russia.

    You mean:
    - Changing the constitution to increase presidential term by 50%
    - Changing the constitution to remove term limits.
    - the wholesale theft of the last presidential & parliamentary elections leading to massive protests.
    - the subsequent subjugation of opposition & free media to ensure such dissent nover reoccurs.
    - effectively president for life.

Robert Mugabe heads a democratic nation too.... apparently!

A "world leader" of some "Stalin style" still dreaming of the "resurection of the gone USSR". One should not forget about his background (ex-KGB agent) which explains a lot.

Popular in Russia? Certainly among those who are his followers, those who oppose him and his policies aren´t among the "lucky ones".

I neither appreciate him nor his policies. In all I find him being a dangerous man in power of a "former" super power.

Do we have to expect that the lyrics of the old Soviet national anthem will replace the current ones? The tune´s the same and if I´m not wrong, it´s been him who brought it up again to remember the "glorious days of the old USSR".

Some boardsies love a good right wing dictator, so they do.

They say he's as big as four cats and he's got a retractable leg so's he can leap up at you better. He lights up at night and he's got four ears, two of them are for listening and the other two are kind of back-up ears. His claws are as big as cups and for some reason, he's got a tremendous fear of stamps! He's got magnets on his tail, so's if you're made out of metal he can attach himself to you and instead of a mouth, he's got four arses.

That last bit is actually true, and he does talk a lot of sh*te

His fear of stamps is a myth propagated by his enemies in Russia.
Stamps are actually afraid of him.

You should've titled the thread: The Vladimir Putin Hate Thread

That way, you would have really gotten his fans to come out of the woodwork around here.

    Vlad's awesome.

His brother was killed during the Nazi siege of Leningrad so he's been personally affected by outside aggression. He's not going to bend to the will of a bunch of Harvard suits in Washington trying to realise their orgasm of world domination.

    G'wan the Vlad

He is a judo black belt, as is Sean Gallagher. I'd love to see them sparring. Sean wasn't quite corrupt enough to become president, so I doubt he would be corrupt enough to win.

    Putin is better at everything.

This is actually kind of true - the Trans-Siberian goes through seven time zones, but the station clocks and timetables are all Moscow time.

He's a vile homophobic bully. He was also the head of the KGB for a time - a time when they murdered and tortured Soviet citizens. He's an asshole.
The same people who eulogise Putin must be the sort who worship that other asshole - Castro in Cuba. You know, curtailing civil liberties, jailing journalists, that sort of thing.
