This is exactly what I was thinking earlier and it's putting huge doubts in my mind about getting him in..............

The plus though is that I can do a straight Downing - Coutihno. Can't do Downing to Sterling without a hit

Don't get me wrong, Coutinho is still a good transfer if funds are an issue, he'll get a lot of assists and obviously his shooting has come on. He's a great player to watch too so he'll keep you entertained 😀

    Balottelli followed by Henderson.

Gerrard then Henderson (but Balo if he bullies him off it! So probably Balo if he is on the pitch at the time!)

Any hope of Sterling being rested v Burnley?
120 plus 90/in 4 days and Sturridge needing gametime.

I'm hoping he is the one to drop out for this game at least.

I defintely think there's a chance. Sturridge will come in up top and coutinho will be one of the two in behind so either lallana or Sterling to miss out. Due to playing 120 on Thurs I think it may be sterling plus with sturridge they then have the pace they need in the team.

Mane to Eriksen done with my one FT

Have Eriksen, Kane and Austin now and think three double players is enough

    Definitely enough.

I don't look for much help or advice here in recent seasons, but I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I still have my WC left to use, I had every intention of using it this gw being a dgw.

The thing is I'm not sure if I need to or not, I've managed to ship out Adm and yaya for eriksen and Silva for a - 4 hit, that leaves me with eriksen and Kane for spurs cover. Ideally I'd like to swap Sanchez for carzola and Defoe for sturridge this gw too, that would require me to WC but am I making a mistake in downgrading Sanchez to carzola to fund the sturridge move ?

I've a gut feeling Sanchez will hit another bit of form soon, if I take him out now I'll lose loads, I got him at 10.6 million. I'm top of my money league by 40 odd points, only one other has sanchez due to his price, he's a serious differential but I feel sturridge esp v Burnley will also hit a bit of form.

Any help, appriciated, baiscally to WC now or later ?

As a couple of posters told you it may not be the best timing to use your WC now. Your 2 transfers are good (even for -4).

Re Sturridge. If you mainly bring him in for the Burnley game but overall you're happier with Sanchez long term then keep your WC for later. Chelsea have a DGW34. There may be other blanks & DGW depending on FA Cup results. So you'll be in a great position at this time with your WC.
I think I'm going to have to do Cazorla or Sanchez to Eriksen for a -4 to protect myself. The annoying thing with Eriksen is that his goals are usually worth 7/8 points since he's so good at BPS.
I have absolutely no idea what side Wenger will put out on Wednesday. Rosicky and Walcott are both theoretically in line for a start which could mean Sanchez and Cazorla both miss out (I think at least one will).
So you reckon Giroud is less a rotation risk than these 2 (considering Giroud was already rested)?

I don't know what to do now?

Ozil, Eriksen, Sterling, Coutinho, Silva all 'in' possibilities. Leaning towards Ozil and Sterling at the moment

Sanchez, Downing, Yaya the 'out' possibilities. Probably won't sell Yaya yet with Leicester up next.

Can someone please advise what I could/should do? 60 behind in ML.

    gw28.jpg

    Edit:
I have enough for Downing to Coutinho. No hit that way but no Eriksen and still have a misfiring Sanchez

Can you do Yaya -> Silva & Downing -> Eriksen ?

I know it's a -4 for a sideways move and a non guaranteed 180min-er but they both have very good fixtures coming. Yaya is not on great form. Maybe he's tired after AFCON. Maybe there's a pressure relief from finally winning it and he struggles to get back to his standard commitment.

I'd wait 1 or 2 games on Ozil and see what Sanchez's doing. If the current situation continues you could do a direct swap easily.

About the Liverpool lads, after the Burnley game they have 3 tough enough fixtures. From GW32 onwards it looks a lot better. Though I agree form > fixtures.

I would have thought before Everton that Giroud for sure wouldn't start both but I'm not so sure now. A goal would have restored his confidence after Monaco and his target man abilities would be useful against the big QPR centre halves. Defore to Austin was an easy transfer for me, Giroud to Austin is a 50/50.

Yeah. I'm actually looking at Cazorla to Silva. I could do Sanchez -> Silva using my great flexibility towards him :pac: but I'm afraid he's gonna get soon an explosive return.

    worth a -8 though?

nah - I think I'd leave the arsenal man in there

    He should play 120-150 min.

Silva is the better long term option. But if you're competing in private leagues Eriksen may be a blocker.

Rival closed the gap on me to under 55 there at weekend, - he played his WC last GW and benched kane/Rose and Eriksen, so decided to try play the blocker this week and took a -8, brought in Rose and Eriksen, and also matty phillips - cheap and picking up assists in last few games for QPR.

Would anyone be kind enough to give an opinion on this..

    A. PVA -> Rose -4

    B. Start Bruce (SUN), No hits for the week & leave enough in the bank to do Austin -> Costa in later weeks..

B all day long, Rose X2 doesn't offer potential for big returns IMO.

In a similar position to a lot of others here - I'm leaning towards ADM out, Eriksen in (Silva the other choice).

So the question then becomes Sanchez to Silva for a -4?

Better to wait to do it for free and it only becomes worth it if you use the money well elsewhere! I would expect Sanchez to outscore Silva this week and quite comfortably over the rest of the season.

I brought him in with a free transfer I don't think I would be taking a hit for anyone this week. Eriksen and Kane maybe would justify it buts its close and when its close I feel its better to err on the side of caution.

I used my FT to bring in Austin so have him and Kane for the DGW. Reckon that's enough?

Yeh its really not the most inspiring DGW. Its nice to have more because its more fun during the match but from a statistical point of view I think it would probably be a mistake unless you are taking out a player with a very low points expectancy.

It would be for Sterling, Silva or Sanchez so I don't think it's worth it. Thoughts?

    Foster Myhill
    PVA Bellerin Creswell Bertrand Bruce
    Sterling Hazard Sanchez Santi Walters
    Aguero Kane Benteke

My season is well and truly over fallen to 350k in the rankings

So going to take risks and hits.

Any thoughts not adverse to a -8 if need be with Creswell, Santi & Benteke (new manager punt) all out was thinking of bringing Zouma, Silva & Austin in but not sure on Austins form now

Always tough when you get to this stage in that sort of position no point making the "sensible" plays go big or go home and no better time to do that than a DGW!

Any news on Phil Jones? I'm actually contemplating a -4 Jones to Bertrand.

My back three is Bellerin, Jones, Wolly with PVA in reserve. My worry is that one or two of those will miss out.

I'm thinking Bertrand could be good to have. He even managed to get 2 bonus when Sainste lost!

Just did Defoe to Austin....Defoe was a punt that did sweet f all the last few weeks.....
Was contemplating one of Sanchez or Hazard out on a DGW punt on Eriksen.....but resisted,Eriksens form and returns have dipped so couldn't see him repaying a -4 hit too well...here's hoping I'm right:)

I would do it (or Alder) if PvA doesn't start. You'll see before lock.

Just the one change for me. Eriksen in for ADM. Getting a bit antsy about Sanchez but I might as well hold him for another week. He'll be out for Silva if he blanks again. I was half-considering bringing in a Spurs defender but I'd probably only end up selling them.

That'll leave me with a totally exciting two double players: Eriksen and Kane.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭stiffler123

Is Sturridge likely to start the next game? I need to sell Defoe as soon as possible.

Nope, I ditched Terry last gameweek. Fixture congestion for them now for a bit so will go without one.

That's what I'm thinking. Wondering if Bertie is worth the extra seeing as he offers a goal and bps threat.

It's some achievement to get bonus when your a defender and your team lose one nil!

Defoe hasn't done anything recently but he does have the advantage of knowing he'll play before the deadline, if he's picked to play against Hull then I'll probably stick with him, home to Villa after that and if he was to score tonight he could well go on a little run.
DiMaria is more urgent to move out as it appears likely that he will not even start away to Newcastle, Mane is my current preferred option. I'm also giving some consideration to Dier. To my shame I had only a half eye on the cup final the other day as we had a childs birthday party, wasn't bothered with the highlights as I knew the score, how did Dier play??

Is PVA worth considering for Sunderland? I know he got dropped for a game but he's good going forward and we'll know by the deadline tonight if he starts

Just noticed that he's fallen back to 4.2m so very cheap and next 5 games are:

    Hull
    Villa
    West Ham
    Newcastle
    Crystal Palace

Its a tough call, big price difference.

I held Bertie through his ban mainly to avoid using a transfer, and I went for him mainly as he's one of the most attacking full backs in the league. He's up in the box so much its mental, but in a defence that's actually solid.

Was delighted with his bonus the last day.

But if I had no Soton defender I'd be sorely tempted by Alderweireld's price.

I suppose it depends if Jelavic and N'Doye start but I thought 5/2 for a Sunderland cleanie was way too high. I think there's a better chance than that and PvA will be bombing forward. Jones might not start and could then be prone to a dreaded cameo.
