I Give it A Year is on E4 tonight at 9pm. Can't guarantee you'll find it as hilarious as I do but it's a very enjoyable sort of reverse RomCom with Rafe Spall and Rose Byrne.

Also on tonight is The Runway, RTÉ 2 at 10:30. Great little Irish film loosely based on true events about a South American pilot who crashes his plane in rural Cork and befriends a local kid who convinces the locals to build a runway and fix his plane so he can fly home. No idea why it's on so late as it's suitable for kids and adults alike.

Horror *cult classic*, an American werewolf in London, film 4 at 11.10. Ok, so not nearly as scary as when out came out all those years ago, but ground breaking for its time.

Taken 3 on channel 4 at 9pm followed by wolf of wall street at 11.15

Not on TV but a free movie nonetheless via Google Play Movies - free from August 24th to September 20th, "Rememory".

    via Android Police -

8.6 on IMDB. Could be worth a watch.

Two tonight both at 9pm. A Good Day to Die Hard on Channel 4 but shading it for me is Swordfish on Dave mainly the shallow side of me as Halle Berry gets her baps out is one of my favourite actresses. :)

The Farthest is on RTÉ 1 Tuesday night just after 10pm. It's the documentary about the Voyager space mission that's been in the cinema recently. Getting rave reviews from all angles. Irish director too.

missed the start of it but the bit I saw looked good. Any idea if it's on again, the way Film4 regularly repeat? I looked through the immediate schedule but couldn't spot it.

I can't see it either. I use Sky's Never Miss site to set up alerts on movies - you do have to set up a sky login but I don't think you have to be a sky customer. Handy that you don't have to keep checking back for movies, but annoying that you can't set it to exclude channels you don't have. You can also use it for to shows

Boy is on Film 4 tonight at 10:50ish.

From the director of the new Thor film, Taika Waititi. It's hilarious and charming and sweet and sad and has the best dance scene at the end. Highly recommend.

Film4 1:40am Monday (Sunday night): sex, lies and videotape. Stephen Soderbergh's feature debut, which won the Cannes Palme d'Or in 1989. Though it might look a bit dated today, when every smartphone has a video camera ... :P

"Willy Wonka" is the crap one with Johnny Depp though. "Charlie" is the classic with Gene Wilder. I saw the WW one and wouldn't go near it with a barge pole again.

wrong way round, Willy Wonka is the Gene Wilder version (and is the one that RTE2 is showing).
