Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Said hello to Seamus in a boards jersey at Baggot Street Bridge this morning. Sorry if I alarmed you, I was rather excited about actually getting to say hello to a boards jersey sighting!

Just saying thanks to the guys this morning for the gel pack at about 9.30 ish. I was flying up past dolphin barn and they gave me a gel pack. Think you were all following a truck? Wanted to stop and chat but was really late for work and had to get in!! (though am a bit wrecked now!)

Hmm... It might have been if it was Tuesday evening.

The lack of helmet gave you away ;)

Gave a shout to someone in full green kit heading towards Clonee from Bracetown today at 14:22. Dunno if you heard me say boardsie, but you gave me a wave anyway :)

Green Jersey between Portobello and Leeson st bridge on the Grand Canal this morning at around 0835.

Didn't shout for fear of starting a sheeple stampede into the canal.

That was me - I find the new boards jersey difficult to spot from far away - it's a little too subdued and classy for early identification! I was almost gone past when I realised you were a boardsie.

Cresting the summit of the Col du San Bernard and bringing the new pink/green kit from France into Italy.

Bringing the pink kit high into the Italian Alps on the 42km trek along the notoriously difficult unpaved Assietta Ridge Road.

Green kit heading towards Lusk from Blake's Cross at 12:22. Gave a shout, but probably wasn't heard over the tractor I was drafting stuck behind.

Apologies - I was a bit slow to react but heard your call alright. I couldn't see you as you seemed to be obscured by the tractor when I looked around. :)

Could have been, thought it was a race bike but only copped the jersey at the last second.

Yea, I was slacking a bit alright!

You should get a left hand drive car - it'll make handing out sticky bottles easier. :)

Passed and gave a 'hi.boardsie' about 5:45 near Stocking Lane

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,477 ✭✭✭rollingscone

Saw two Boardsies in the Green kit along the Grand Canal this evening at around 1840 - one passed me at the Hilton going West. The other might have been Wizardej again I think? On an MTB sitting at a crossing opposite me while I wheeled the wifenbike with one hand and carried a wheel box in the other.

Didn't call out, because there might have been several awkward minutes of standing on the opposite sides of a crossing immediately after.

Spotted pink jersey on my way back from Howth around 5.30 just after St.Annes park although Im not sure what exact time, second time Ive waved and shouted Boardsie..no response either times..

100m down the road a green kit, on a canyon I think? Was gunna shout but was too depressed after being ignored 30 seconds earlier.. :pac:

Shouted hello to a Boardsie in pink gear coming through the Laragh crossroads on Sunday - presume you were part of the Bray Wheelers Randonee.

I was the stressed looking person with the whistle.

I passed alongside a Boardsie in pink while wearing pink myself and he looked across at me and made no response after I said hello. Some people are just weird! He should be made return the kit. :D

Yeah think that was me on the black hybrid. Sounds like you didn't have free hands to wave with anyway :)

May have been myself, I took a right here: https://www.google.ie/maps/@53.2948042,-6.2809762,3a,75y,180.68h,74.57t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1swDLype2v8DVhS3KSNmjhDw!2e0 and then another right onto Taylor's Lane once I got up the Grange Road hill. Black & Green Trek hybrid? :)

Twas you indeed, was going to beep but I dislike being beeped at myself so thought better of it :)

Getting beeped at would only annoy me in a situation where I'm going downhill and trying to concentrate on speed / obstructions / other traffic etc. Any other case and I'll give a friendly wave, nod or thumbs up back. :)
