Back tomorrow. I have a knots in my stomach, such a feeling of impending doom. I usually don't get nervous about anything :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 107 ✭✭MWick94

I have a terrible timetable, e.g. business, then lunch, then more business! That happens at least once a day! And I have two irish classes on Friday, and two maths on Tuesday. I wouldn't mind if they were doubles, but they're not. I already hate 6th year.

    (Oh, and I got homework.)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,207 ✭✭✭decisions

I'm loving 6th year so far :D and my physics test went surprisingly well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 87 ✭✭Poufsouffle

Well done on the test! :)
All this talk of timetables makes me really want to see mine now - except I don't want to have to go to school to get it.
I'd be surprised if I don't get homework on the first day, i did last year and that was only 5 th year.

For an off-topic thread, this thread is pretty.. on-topic :p

Knowing my teachers I'll be getting homework first day, straight back into it :pac:

I'm not worried bout my timetable anyway, I get about 4 free class periods a week cause I do music as an extra class... it's fairly handy :p

Went back in today to help out with the first years, told my maths teacher that I passed our christmas test (it was a common test between the 2 honours classes and the other teacher graded them). She looked genuinely surprised. Wow.

My dad brought me home one of those academic planner calendar things from work. Now i can constantly be reminded of how soon
    the learning cert is. :(

Awww lads, dunno about this timetable.
I s'pose I was never gonna really like it though and eventually Ill hate some days more than others anyway..

First proper day tomorrow. Was in with first years today which was just exhausting. Came home so tired and I just felt awful. Hopefully this is not what it is going to be like the whole year :(

Starting tomorrow. My sleeping pattern is gone right now, will probably fall asleep around 2 to wake at 8

Not back until Thursday thank the lawd...I think I just need to get through this week and then I'll be OK with it. Or at least will have accepted it...

<10 months and it'll be over. We can do this!

I actually think the Apple earphones that come with an iPod are the best, so maybe see if there's any of those knocking about? :p

If you change your mind about headphones, Sennheiser's are great and really cheap!

Have a look at these, not sure if you'd find them round the shops, but I've been fairly happy with them so far... they're pretty good at blocking out the noise around ya, so you can enjoy your music without hearing anything else :P

sennheiser cx-500's, best pair of headphones I've ever owned.

My room is some mess...Sheets of paper everywhere! :D Wish they had some induction day for repeats in my school. Have to wait for another week i think until I start again :o

I was in talking to the principal just there. One of the teachers that I want to view one of my papers with says she has plans with friends for that night. I'm back on Monday, I haven't heard how everyone did in my year but I just hope it's only sound people who are repeating. :pac:

Seriously? Surely she knew people would be viewing scripts that night? :P
In the same boat as you hoping sound people will be repeating..I know my friend is so thats ok :D
I was talking to the principal about a week ago and the number she gave who could be potentially repeating was 14  I think that's a lot! :P

I know, it's pretty bad. I might have to get another teacher to view it. :P
I only know two other people who are definitely repeating and they're fairly sound, but there's one or two wasters that I really hope don't bother. :pac:
14! Usually there's only about 4 or 5 in mine but the schools fairly small. (70 in a year)

they will serve you well, also a 2 year warranty, so that's always a plus.

See the thing is..This year there were a load of repeats(Good few dropped out though) and they were all catered for :P Probably about 80-90 people in 6th year!

I'm the exact same. I know in a few months I'll just freak out one day and be like 'Where did most of 6th year just disappear to??'

Sennheiser, Creative or Sony brand are my go-to brands for in-ears, great budget ones.

Best pair I owned were €50 Creative pair that I got free on a website deal: http://en.store.creative.com/headphones-headsets/ep-830/437-17398.aspx (now €35, which I'd almost say is worth it).

Thinking of buying something like these when I get my new MP3 player: http://en.store.creative.com/headphones-headsets/aurvana-in-ear/437-14702.aspx

BTW I arrived back to school today. Meh.

First day back today, the year had a very motivating speech from the vice this morning.

Not too much homework thankfully. My timetable isn't actually bad, no double Irish. :D

Kind've happy to be back though, seeing everyone again. Hopefully the year flies and this time next year I'll be packing for Limerick. :pac:

Went back today. Worst timetable ever, so many double classes :(

First day back with an induction and my timetable isn't that bad compared to 5th year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 603 ✭✭✭Flabangav

I'm repeating, and everyone else went back to school today, but I only got back from a festival in England this afternoon. I'll probably go back on Thursday. I'm so unorganised :P

My timetable is... alright. Apart from the loss of the best maths teacher ever, <snip> there aren't any massive changes.

Except... for the one other massive change.
Each day is now 5 minutes shorter. instead of running from 9:10 - 15:45 it now runs from 9:12:59 - 15:43.
No, seriously. 9:12:59. It was 9:13 but then somebody said something about how it's unlucky to have a 13 in the time. The guy was joking but the idea was taken seriously and now my timetable has 9:12:59 on it.
And every day at 9:1312:59 I have a seven minute tutorial class.

So many weird numbers and ideas. What the hell is my school at?
Also got a weird homework journal which is full of information on drug abuse, the environment, inspirational quotes and a weirdly designed study planner. It's massive and not easy to carry around.

I swear, there is no timetable possible to be worse than mine.. 3 double classes on one day, doubles every day, some doubles split up, double religion (wth?) and just awful awful combinations. Also have two teachers for biology.. Apparently no one has a nice timetable. I'm so tired already it's unreal. It feels like I've been back for way longer than 2 days :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 850 ✭✭✭0mega

I'm back tomorrow, hopefully I won't have issues with my timetable like the rest of ye.

A double Irish on Monday morning would be the worst for me..

I actually wouldn't mind that tbh, the way I'd look at it is that the most I can have is 4 subjects for homework.

Anyways, I'm back tomorrow and I can't find my tie anywhere. Blaaaaaaah can't wait to be finished secondary school.

Yeh that's the only good thing as I'm usually busy on those evenings so it will be a relief.

Hard to believe a new group of poor fcukers just started leaving cert. I am no longer a 6th year! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,163 ✭✭✭TheGoldenAges

Ex-TY here, back on Thursday. Don't mind what timetable I get as it's going to be the same workload. Seeing all my friends get their college offers last week was the first major dose of reality that I'm here for another year. But I got great motivation in seeing some get their course and others not doing well, kinda makes me wanna strive for success. Anyway good luck to all and I'm sure it'll be grand

I'm the same! I have so many doubles. Double Maths ( :) ) , double French (kill me now), double religion (don't see the point tbh)...and then I have two single English classes and two single Irish classes on a couple of days too. I suppose it makes the homework overload a bit better but I'm not looking forward to those classes! :-)

So back for my first proper day today...and my physics teacher has already informed us of an exam we are having in two weeks on everything we have done up to that point. Didn't give us much time to settle in...no time for that in 6th year  Also, we were told today its 17 weeks til our mocks, can't wait!
