Fergus "how does he get any time to do his real job on 100K a year" Finlay

I'm never giving another penny to Barnardos, turns out they've been billing the taxpayer/HSE @ €110 per hour plus expenses for Guardian ad litem services to children in need.

Barnardos took down €3,000,000 + last year reported

And then they shake us down with misery porn

Ray really putting Finlay through the wringer here. Reminding him that he
was once a tobacco lobbyist! Turns
out that Dr. Ciara Kelly has resigned from Diageo's anti-drinking group. No
medical person on it now. Finlay waffling
furiously!! :( Got to hand it to Ray here.
Wiping the floor with Finlay. 'Does it
make sense to you that if you are successful in getting fewer people to
drink that it means less money for Diageo's?' 'There are no dissenting
voices on your website, Fergus.' A lot
of people very unhappy with FF. A
petition signed by Jillian Van Turnout and others criticising him has been issued today.

He is dead right. Made a lot of excellent
    points.

And Jillian Van Turnout....not a 'reformed
    alcoholic', AFAIK!

In this case Ray is absolutely right.
Fergus Finlay came off very badly in
this interview. Was delighted that Ray
did not let him away with his waffle!!
FF is a hypocrite, speaking out of both
sides of his mouth, as usual!! :(

Beware the reformed 'xyz' - insert your particular trait. Reformed zealots are usually just that.

Yes, in that sense, D'Arcy is an improvement on the Mooney show. Ray can still be sharp and on the ball, when he's inclined to it. Bit more spine.

Ray just asked Des if he was a reformed alcoholic- they are definitely reading this thread

I think I know who the mystery voice is and I've been trying to call in between 4 and 4:30 for the past three days, but I've only gotten through once and then it rang out. Has anyone done this kind of thing before?

Tracey Piggot? I tried ringing other shows years back and never for through, had thought the numbers were blocked in work or something. Just keep trying I suppose

It was a throwaway comment. Don't take it so literally.

Speaking of crusades and horses, I wonder will he give as much coverage of Cheltenham as Mooney used to, considering his militant anti-gambling stance.

Eh no. It was a specific statement of intent by Ray.

That Ray is still on the Island of Ireland we now know that Ray is not a man of honour.

Ray was always happiest cheer leading the property bubble and 'bertie' , now he's lost, droning on about porridge, jogging and rehashing 3-5 day old Internet stories

He sounds like he's going to crack in his current groundhog cycle. Very depressed tones and proof to the adage that money doesn't necessarily make one happy.

Fergus Finlay must now realise, as a former spin and PR man, that being on this Diageo funded alcohol thing is a disaster for him.

If an interviewer as dull and fairly witless as Ray D'Arcy can score points off him, it's time for Finlay to pack it in.

Definitely. It took courage for her to do that.

Just trying to figure out how the Ray D'Arcy show will balance out her contribution.

A 15 year old reading out a letter about life with a mother and father won't really grab the attention.

I assume they will air an alternative viewpoint?
