Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Beef grill steaks.

Would these be nutritional, or just processed crap?

Ie, how would they be for someone watching what they are eating, Prob served with a nice salad or some stir fried veggies and a few baby spuds?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,593 ✭✭✭tommycahir

Your probably better off having the chicken fillets or the steak but i'm sure if you ask over on Health & Fitness > Nutrition & Diet forum they will advise you better

They are like beef burgers covered with pepper;)

Nothing unhealthy about them, but chicken breast and sirloin would be much better quality wise.

Exactly, Tesco can't hold a candle to Aldis fruit and veg, both for quality and price.

While this is true, I've noticed lately that Aldi runs out of their Super Six before the end of the fortnight and they don't restock. I went to pick up some of the plums yesterday (39c through today) but they had none left. Checked back again today and the Super Six was down to a Super Three. Went over to Tesco and got plums at 49c for six.

Actually let's be honest would it not be way more practical to have one bargain alert thread for weekly fruit/veg offers for all supermarkets?

There used to be one many not so many moons ago

The thread was started as an Aldi Super 6, and nothing else, I started a Supervlau 3 for €2.00 thread some time ago but some wouldn't post in it, there is also a Tesco thread in existence.

Why people can't post in the proper thread is beyond me, it's not rocket science.

Any particular reason it stopped? Seems like it would be a much better idea, particularly since there is essentially a price war going on between them at the mo

I imagine too many people = too many tangents = confusion

Was in both Aldi and Dunnes today, three giant onions in Aldi for 39c and a bag of moldy onions in Dunnes for 39c, Aldi won hands down, if not for all the people pulling at the boxes to get the cheap veg I might have bought some onions and melon.

Wow. That's getting it in advance. They have sent out the posters long in advance but I bet they did not expect the managers to put it out so early.

These offers are bull when every time ya go it's a big empty shelf. That chicken there ^^, thats a good offer to me.

Il go in 2/3 times in the period and i doubt they'll have any in stock.

Pity its not a free range though.

You've really got to go there early enough to get the offers sometimes!

Free Range for 3€ ? Come on.

That super 6 fruit and veg is great.

Rucking Fetard - why not talk to the manager of your local store and ask him to put whatever you want aside for you to collect later, I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue.

How does it work, do they just stock up the shelves first thing before opening and then after that when it's gone, it's gone for the day ?

600g of stewing beef is a good deal, as is €3 for a 1.6kg chicken too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,816 ✭✭✭✭freshpopcorn

Well in my local Aldi we always find the best time to shop is between 9am and 2pm because we find this is when the shelves are best stocked and if something isn't on the shelf they seem to be staff working to assist you than later in the afternoon/evening.

be wary of the weights of all fruit and veg in Tescos! Carrots advertised as 600G might be marked on the packs as only 500g, Mandarin oranges advertised as 650g might only be 500g packs.

There was a back to school magazine floating around in Aldi last week and the new super 6's were/are in the centre of this magazine.
