Very well produced and kinda reminds me of Leftfield. BUT i would like some synth or melody on it to keep the interest going. But you may be intentionally going with the minimal vibe

Newly completed track, "Lamps of Fire". A slow burner (suitably) with some nice guitar effects:

I'd echo Ravenholm with regard a melody. Need not be anything too dramatic.

This is really chill! The piano adds a lot of class to the track, not sure what instrument you used for the panned jazzy type sounds but they work very well (Kind of a fiddle type sound). I'll throw this on later with a few beers.

It sounds like the track is meant to be very atmospheric, which it is. I think the atmospheric instruments could use a little bit more work in terms of Mixing/EQ'ing as they tend to takeover a little bit to much in the mix imo, but you know...it's all subjective really ;)

^ Thanks for the comments! Yes, atmospheric was the name of the game, wanted this to evoke an exotic, mysterious, night-time setting, with candles and lanterns and what not! The instruments rise and fall but I'll check the EQ and see if I can get it better.

What you're hearing is mostly guitar; I've run it through various FX to create that sound. There's around four or five guitar tracks in there; slide, pitch adjusted, delayed, reversed... Other instruments are regular piano, electric piano, keyboard on a harp setting (with gradual echo added), bass, drums, and a chorus-y piano.

My other smashing dance craze, 'Leave the Stage'. This is supposed to be a song with vocals, however, I am having a hard time to find a good singer.

Thanks for listening lads! I was going for the minimal vibe but you're right it does need a little extra something. Will have a mess around with it :)

While most of us may not like the EDM style, we try and give genuine feedback on the track.
I quite like the piano intro with the string/pad a nice addition, although it's a bit too long imo. The major problem I have is that when the kick comes in, there's no build-up to it and when it's playing the track sounds out of sync and very muddled.

Again (to be honest I'm wondering if you're taking the piss) the start is disturbingly catchy, it has an eastern European folky style. When the arpeggiated piano comes in though, it sounds like a horrible clashing mess.

Nice crisp sounds. Kind of a Daft Punk vibe with that big open hat. Nice bassline although I'd prefer a shorter attack. Having said that, the mirrored synth layer thickens it up nicely. Maybe a little vocal hit here and there would add to the funk?
Only thing that I'd say is it sounds like the bass and a synth stabs over it have a slight reverb on them with the dry turned down which makes it sound kind of far back in the mix). Could be just the PC I'm listening on though (using headphones). I'll have a listen on my system at home later.

The only reason why I posted that here is because, this thread is in the DANCE MUSIC PRODUCTION forum. Plus it won't feel too long when I get my own recording studio done soon and I will add vocals as my friend agreed to sing it for me - same with Leave the Stage. Btw no I am not taking the piss, in fact, you may not believe how hard it is to make these kind of songs. I don't just take samples like most DJs that I know, I use actual instruments. Can you tell me how the d-d-d-d-d bit is no build up, plus as I said you won't be saying that when I add the vocals soon.

Because you have nearly 2 minutes of no kick up to that point. The build-up you mention is hardly signifying a big kick drop. Even something as simple as a snare roll or white noise riser would help.

Another dance instrumental of mine, though quite different style than the other two. I say instrumental because like the other two, it will have vocals soon.

Again the piano parts are quite nice. Kick is a bit weak and could do some eq. Seems a bit of a push to call it a dance number (in the electronic sense) when you only have 42 secs of percussion in a track that's over 3 mins long.

Does that mean you think it would be a good song with vocals ?

    EQ'ing/ Mixing/ Arrangement/ Breaks/ Use of FX

You've got a few good ideas going for these tunes. I'd recommend paying more attention to the arrangement/ structure of your tracks and work on your EQ'ing and mixing to improve the overall sound and quality of your music.

You could use different FX like crashes and risers to help with transitions to different parts of your track like the drop, etc. which will help it sound a lot smoother rather than unexpected.

With your track 'Infinity' at 1:50 to the drop sounds muddy and it's hard to actually understand what's going on. It almost sounds like you've layered two different tracks on top of each other. To clean it all up, learn about EQ'ing and you'll be on the way.

That would seriously depend on the vocals

another great tune Paul. Love the use of the sample. very early to mid 1990s ambient/trance vibes going on. Have you been listening to Orbitals early stuff recently by any chance? :P

Yeah. Permanently on rotation in this gaff :-D

Nicely produced number and a fitting ode to the brothers Hatnoll.
Very reminiscent of The Girl with the Sun in Her Head :)

Another instrumental which will include vocals - feels like it's missing something though - do you agree?

Signature style there from yourself. Nice Dr Who-esque bassline and the high pitched arpeggiated line works very well. Cool atmosphere to the track as a whole.
