some casting news on season 5, Alexander Fehling will be playing Jonas Happich, a lawyer dating carrie, whos apparently in a self imposed exile in berlin, Miranda Otto is Allison Carr, the Berlin station chief, who’s working under Saul, Sebastian Koch is Otto Düring, a German philanthropist and Carries’ boss, and Sarah Sokolovic is a journalist in Berlin who works for the foundation where Carrie and Jonas are employed.

filming is starting this week so id say there might be more casting yet, but its looking like it could be a good season, any brody drama should be well and truly gone, i dunno if id fancy seeing quinn again, id assumes he wont be around, he looked set to become a decent character, but i dunno it just didnt seem to work in the end,

yeah thats the balls about 12 or 13 episode a season shows, they air over 3 months and arent back then for 9 months, but at least they run straight through though, no 2 then 3 then 2 again and then 8 week breaks throughout the season,

The Charlie Hebdo attack, Edward Snowden, ISIS and Vladimir Putin will be among the subjects tackled in the new season of spy drama Homeland.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association briefings in Pasadena, California, Showtime president David Nevins said: "Its themes, I think, will resonate with people. Charlie Hebdo. Snowden. It’s interesting elements to this season that brings a lot of things together. As long as they keep it fresh, it’s a show that’s never the same season after season."
Homeland has relocated to Berlin for the new season after the relationship between Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and the CIA has soured. She is now working for a German security firm.
Ganza had previously hinted that the show’s new season could include storylines about the current Ukraine conflict.
Homeland season five will premiere on October 4 in the US.

everything went to **** in islamibad, but carrie saw Dar Adal with the rebels, and that made her leave the CIA, but then Dar Adal convinced saul to come back to the agency, and the final episode was that carries father died (james rebhorn died in real life) and the dealt with some of the fallout,

    You'd swear
a couple of lads looking after a porn site could find better things to do than upsetting the CIA.

    I doubt it.

A gimmick to get people to sign up to Hulu and Showtime streaming they did the same with Ray Donovan.

    5.01

Trolling Islamists might be a pre-cursor to a Charlie Hebbdo type incident.

Quinn's briefing was great. 'What's going on there?' and his follow-up - 'what strategy?!'

Saul's brief encounter with Carrie was pointed, too. Looking forward to hearing more about Saul, the Germans and Carrie's Foundation. It took me a moment or two for my brain to readjust to Carrie's new work set up. The one who kept going on about publishing the hacked document, I'm calling her Publish It Woman as I don't know her name yet.

Carrie going down the Jack Bauer route, getting kidnapped and sh!t.

Someone left some cable behind? The IT term for that is - oh bollocks. Also, Saul's 'the vulnerability's been patched', clearly lifted from every tech press release ever.

I don't know how much foreshadowing they do, but from the first couple of scenes, I'm immediately spotting references to England:
Scene 1: Carrie in church in Berlin, the organist is playing Nimrod (Elgar), which is almost an English anthem. They play it at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
Scene 2: the porn cam studio is behind the "King George Club".

So, if something bad happens in England later in the series, that's foreshadowing in action!

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

Don't think that was foreshadowing. If it is it's a very extreme form of foreshadowing

A few highlights most of them in Saul's hair (he's dying it right?), Quinn's summing up of that part of Syria(I forgot the name) where the rebels are in real life to either send in 200,000 troops or make a Car Park out of it was chilling especially in light of the current Russian bombing campaign.

an excellent start to the season, only just managed to get around to it now, something sneaky going on at carries foundation, id say a chunk of the staff could be activists of some sort or the other, id say its not your normal NGO helping sick kids and what not, is say that trip to lebanon is gonna take a very dark turn, saul even warned carrie not be so naive,

the kidnapping i thought seemed pretty accurate as to how id think these people communicate, and is just something carrie knows she has to deal with in her job, noting is gonna be as straight forward as making a simple phone call, but id say season 4 carrie would have picked up on that immediately, unlike the season 5 carrie who seems to have let her guard down, and as saul said is pretty naive, so its gonna be interesting to see her getting back into it as the season goes on,

i dunno if i missed somthing, but was quinns mission in syria scrapped in the end, seeing as hes just hanging around berlin waiting for envelopes to appear in his post box now,
