Kiffin has been fired by USC.

This is why no one should ever, ever count out the Tide.

Whereas almost every other major program operates with a wide-open offence and defence 'Bama are tailor made to grind down teams with good defence and a very solid and balanced offence. They're built for the big games.

Ole Miss-Auburn could be a mini-cracker next week.

Good news re: Kiffin. Now if Pat Haden can be ousted too, I'll be delighted.

Pulled off the Team Bus at LAX and told to make his own arrangements home. Classy move from a classy program for a classy coach. Lots of class all round.

Navy and army seasons could be in trouble as the army and navy scale back due to the US government shutdown.

Ah my bad. That was my second thought talk about a bs call. Even though they won Texas got lucky seemed to be a fair few calls go there way. I know Iowa St arent great either but Texas looked poor as they have all season long.

Coach Rhoads will probably see a fine for this rant but he is right they were robbed:

Yeah they did get a lot of calls their way.

It's not just a Texas thing though imo. I think the same thing happens in every sport with the bigger teams more often than not getting the more favourable calls their way.

Was talking to a friend of mine who's a Florida St student at the start of the summer and he was massively bigging up Jameis Winston their new freshman starting QB who also plays baseball for them. So I've been keeping an eye on him since the start of the season and WOW he's been hugely impressive. Thrown for 5 TD's and nearly 400 yards against no. 25 Maryland at the moment and we're only just started the 4th Quarter!

I went for Georgia at the start to win it all but now Marshall is injured it looks like.

Disaster too after such a promising start in Tennesse.

Marcus Mariota not letting Johnny Football have the Heisman race to homself. Five passing TDs last night and two Rushing TDs.

    Another blowout by Oregon.

Jameis Winston from Florida state also in the conversation at the moment & I wouldn't discount Lache Seastrunk from Baylor yet. 8tds & 11.1 ypc (if teams could stick in the games with Baylor he'd have more yards)

Great to see the Tigers running Ole Miss. Already a better season than last year (3-8 overall, 0-8 in SEC play) at 4-1 and 2-1 in the SEC. It's good for both the state of Alabama and the SEC the in general that the Tigers are on the mend, in the years ahead it should make the SEC West infinitely more interesting, if that were even possible.

WC shouldn't present too many problems next week and then it's off to see Johnny and the boys in College Station.

What a game in Northwestern! That really was Wildcats opportunity to but a big statement in about the program. had enough turnovers to win that game, disappointing way for it to finish, 40-30 isn't fair on NW.
