I'd hazard a guess that the supposed association between hairy women and feminism is pretty insulting to a lot of feminists. Maybe a few could comment on it to clarify.

Fear and loathing of women's bodies, fear and loathing of gay people. Not surprising in a thread devised for teenagers

I just prefer shaven women, and no, I don't watch porn.

Why are you all even arguing with each other over this?

Seems kinda pointless since men who prefer unshaven have posted in this thread, which proves that hair on women is down to personal preference more than anything else.

I once shaved my downstairs region years ago at the behest of my OH.
Never again, the itching as it grows back is almost unbearable.

The reason she didn't shave was because she believed that it was something imposed on women so men would find them sexually attractive as part of the objectification of women. It's not a random association. Use your noggin.

I suspect, and I may be wrong here, that Smash meant the assumption/form of ridicule that all feminists are hairy; rather than all feminists who are hairy aren't remaining hairy for feminist reasons, as your friend did.

Bit of a tongue twister that one, hope it's followable.

Depends where your preferences lye doesn't it. If you don't like the appearance or feeling of hair then you would consider it wrong disregarding your washing habbits.

well that's just fact, still doesn't mean that people should accept and stop shaving it if they don't want to.
I wasn't accusing you of calling women smelly. I was just referring to some people on this thread who have suggested it's unhygienic. And I never said people should stop shaving, just that they should be able to without being called disgusting or smelly.
Just because someone has more hair, doesn't mean they are less hygienic than someone who doesn't have hair. But some people here are simplifying it and presuming that hair = smelly/dirty, when in reality it's more complex. Sure, there's a possible higher chance of people with hair being more prone to being smelly...but it's only a possibility, it's not fact.

I get that you have your opinion, and that's completely fair - I'm sure if I was male, I would have a slight preference to shaven women, but I wouldn't make such a big deal about it, and start throwing out stupid and simple arguments about hygiene (again, not necessarily aimed at you) and "oh she'll never find a man" (anyone hairy women I know have men), because really, it's just a bit of hair. And people are acting like it's so much more.

Who effing cares, hair or no hair. I couldn't give a sh*t. If you want to shave, shave, and if you don't, don't.

Loving the statements that if a woman doesn't shave she is not looking after herself though Hilarious.

Some amount of rubbish on this thread. I think the funniest parts are the denials that porn/and wider media has influenced people's perceptions.

The woman in the article is rank, I nearly got sick eating a sandwich when I saw the pics last week.

To be fair though I don't know any women who don't find hairy armpits, legs etc on another woman equally as disgusting as any man does. I've seen women look away in disgust on holidays on seeing a women by the pool with hairy pits.

On the other hand, men should not be saving their legs, chests etc.

I have also shaved the whole thing off only twice. I now trim.

Awful! After shaving your hair grows back very bluntly and sharply in an extremely sensitive area and it is unbearable!

If a woman is walking around with trousers it's likely she has hairy legs....there's a hairy woman near everyone reading this thread...

Google women with hairy armpits and some nice images of models come up. It's just because men are so used to seeing hairless women that they think hairy women are vile, so we need to get pictures seen more!
