Lovely looking build, OH is mad for a H440 so I'll have to show her how it looks with a bit of sexy lighting going on.

I can't wait to get my own house and just set up a battlestation room. Renting sucks.

I love the lights behind the monitor, anyone know how it looks with white leds, or does that just brighten it?

I use white when I'm watching football or a movie sitting back from the PC desk. Have them also around the back of my Tv. They really help to watch a movie in the dark, but not strain your eyes. There is really good information online about why this is a recommended thing(what basically happens in cinemas at a domestic level)

I also run LED's at the back of my desk and just under a little shelving piece that runs behind my PC. Gives a really nice hue to the whole thing, so if I want i can play with the room lights off and not get eye strains. Plus it looks amazing.

I have just gone with the below from IKEA. You can control the colours or set it into a changing pattern. They are easy to setup and use, affordable and can't recommend them enough. I have the colour controllers sticky backed onto a wallspace so they are out of the way.

The way the bars work, you can hook them up into different lengths.

I even got some of these in plain white for the landing, attic and the kids room. Was brilliant for putting our little one to bed (so bright house lights wouldn't wake her) and yet the misses could see where she was going :)

Here is the RGB style pack

And here is just plain white
    http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/products/lighting/integrated-lighting/dioder-led-4-piece-lighting-strip-set-white-art-00119419/

And here is a newer model they have that lets you shape around corners and stuff.

For the LED's, these are some old pictures of when I first got them. When I moved to current house got a bit better with cable management and stuff haha

Here is my current setup in my new house. Only change I'm thinking of making is moving my Pop Vinyl into an IKEA thing I have out of photo, and adding in some more LED's there. you can see at the right of the picture the colour control on the wall

I've the strips going behind the desk, and you can just about see the shelf behind the monitors where I've strips under there too

Took some inspiration from Icyseanfitz. Had all the bits already, just needed the LED and cleaned up the cabling

table setup is exact same as mine, thinking of moving it around a little so that ive the desk on the left for monitors and the one on the right for the tower, so basically switching which desk i have full access to, lovely setup (even though im a bit bias) :)

Its actually not that noticeable with the chair. I dont tend to bang off it much. Thankfully :)

I like it its nice size for sitting room and it shows off the graphic card nicely. Might have a look at different colours.

New desk setup, no wall arms so on to a cheapo desk mount. Not perfect (cant pull the panels together) but she's not far off.

What's the little white thing on the desk, between the monitor mount pole and the mouse? HDD dock?

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,167 ✭✭✭✭ED E

    A 360 pad charger.

Have a dock but its not used regularly enough to warrant the desk clutter.

I've the same case except in black without the window. It's a pain in the ass to work with given its size but apart from that it's fantastic.

Bonus points for being honest (or lazy) and not spending hours tidying up and moving all the crap off your desk (than we all have) before taking pics :D

haha yeha I never feel the need to do that. Part of the reason I "think" I'll go do cable management, and then never bother my arse. It's really just for show.

I change parts and things so frequently that I've be annoyed having to constantly cut cableties
