Just wondering, what is the highest ranked player you have come across in BF4? I saw a lvl 71 there early last week and I'm wondering how he could of done that so quickly. Do you guys find it slower or quicker to level up than in BF3?

Level 38 is the highest i've seen, makes you wonder if these lads actually have a life though. I find it easier to level up than BF3, you seem to get more rewards for stuff than BF3.

Played a level 60 yesterday. Do they do anything other than play it tho

Jaysus thanx god for that....I actually taught I was seeing things. One game I was in the LAV and honestly I taught I was firing bubbles at a tank!!! No hits at all but of course they were hitting me.

Very bad, ping was fine. Dont know what it is about this game :rolleyes:

There is an option to turn off hit detection, more common on hardcore servers. But this would only be the case if it was missing for the full round.

I played all weekend without one crash. Server crashes are more common when the server is overloaded. Max I have is 42 players in rush and it is rock solid. If I try to push an obliteration map though it will fall over. So I took it out and ran the server all weekend without a single crash.

I'm a level 53, #7 in Ireland on the rankings apparently. I HAVE played my fair share of the game already but I DO have a life also and no I'm not obese or living in my Mothers basement :P

I find it much easier levelling up in this than BF3 and there's less levels than in BF3 where there was essentially 145 levels compared to the 100 on BF4.

Crashes have calmed right down for me now. Only one Sat and Sunday.

It is WAY faster leveling up, WAY TOO fast. I think rank 100 is only 5 million points, a 1/5th of BF3. Stupid really, come next year all committed players will be rank 100. UGH.

On the top of who we've played against... Anyone ever see this guy before?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy1zDBW_UAw

I was against him last night & killed him a few times.

    QUESTION TIME

Matimi0 has a videon the AT mines versus Slam but didn't answer this.

I know you can leave 3 AT mines down, die and then leave 3 Slams down and the AT mines remain leaving you a total of 6 at any one stage on the Battlefield; good maths eh.

On the antivehicle specialistion (which I dont have yet) you can have double the mines meaning if you get to that perk you can leave down 6 mines. How does that work though, if I get to that perk, leave down 6 and then die do the 6 remain or just the 3 (because I have lost my perk).

Sorry if I am explaining this badly.

Hit detection is perfectly fine, its the netcode thats terrible.

Little from column A a Little from column B. My hit markers turned off mid round last night. V irritating. Its impossible to walk forward and shoot at someone in this game. I keep having to stop dead for the hits to register

    Ah to feck.
Look folks, unless you have access to the BF4 source code, you really can't be sure that whatever's causing your problem is down to netcode (and "netcode" isn't even a word for pete's sake). It could be any one of a hundred things, from stuff on your own PC (if, like me, your rig isn't an Origin special costing more than my car is worth) to stuff on your local network (nice router, did it come free with a box of corn flakes?) to stuff on your ISP's network to stuff on the internet backbone, to stuff on the server's ISP's network to stuff on the server's local network to stuff on the other player's ISP's network to stuff on the other player's local network to stuff on the other player's PC. Sure, it could also be the network stack in BF4, but there are so many different possible causes that it just looks silly when you see people in chat on these games talking about how it's definitely the "netcode" and how DICE made a mess of things and so on.

I mean, how many of those players even know what language the "netcode" is written in or would be able to read it if they saw it?

    C'mon lads...

To be fair, even if we don't know whats causing the issues doesn't mean they don't exist. :p

Of course not, but everyone's going round talking about how it's definitely the "netcode" and it just gets silly after a while (I may be biased here :D ). I mean, it could well be something in the stack's not right, but BF4's not a small program, there's more than enough areas in there for problems to be cropping up in that it could be anyone of dozens of things; and it's more likely to be a dozen things all going wrong together.

(This is really more of a bitching session than a complaint btw. So defend your engineers, don't run around corners, aim for the head, stop complaining about netcode, and GET OFF MY LAWN :P )

I get to see games communities from both sides. Almost every game community is filled with people who haven't a notion of how things work or what's happening, but will freely mouth off condemning the games company anyway. The internet is full of idiots who think there's infinite bandwidth from everywhere to everywhere else. Rather than make a sweeping generalisation, we'll take a precise example from World of Tanks. At even the slightest hint of lag, there'll be some know-it-all demanding Wargaming "fix" their servers, when the reality is that in 99% of cases, it's due to the crappy and insufficient peering arrangements of their ISP. But of course, there's little to be gained from trying to explain these things to people like them. I suspect these are the same people who tend to play as sniper on rooftops.

whatever about the rest but like. Snipers dont HAVE to be in among the action. Alright if its conquest 12v12 and you have three snipers 10 miles away trying to do l33t headshots n **** but like. Sniper rifles are pretty much most effective from a height like a rooftop. Never understood people suggesting its an incorrect way to play the game.

Levelcap would disagree with that, but then levelcap seems to have 50 hours in his day, 25 of which he plays battlefield for :D

Snipers aren't capping flags or setting bombs.
    Snipers aren't rezzing downed teammates.
    Snipers aren't popping enemy vehicles.
    Snipers aren't resupplying ammo.
    Snipers aren't helping.

Nah, gotta work for a living :)
Tried getting into a game with you on Saturday I think, spent ages try to connect to the server, then ended up on the other team!
Pretty sure I killed you once or twice tho, and vise versa of course.
Did end up on the same side on a later match, but couldn't get into your squad.

    Killing enemies.
    Lazing Targets.
Well placed spawn beacons are a godsend when your team is ****.
    Mavs too.
A good Sniper can justify his spot on the team no bother. This "Oh he's a Sniper using the Sniper rifle from an adequate distance therefore he must be ****" attitude is fairly pathetic. There's never been calls from people to remove the recon class from the game. Battlefield encompasses all aspects of warfare not just the running in all guns blazing aspect of it.

Except they don't do those things. They don't kill anywhere near as effectively as the other classes. They don't laze or use MAVS. They do nothing but attempt to get cowardly kills, too afraid to face other players. Each and every single round I play only reinforces this.

Snipers are protecting flags from sneaky 'spec ops' style lone wolf enemies
Snipers are laser tagging vehicles for engineers or making use of their C4
Snipers are tagging enemy units all over the map
Snipers are helping - if they're doing it right !

I shall remember this the next time I earn a savior ribbon or a flag capture ribbon or a conquest service star while playing as the recon class :P
(Or the next time I C4 a tank and defend the flag doing so :P )

Saying that every Recon that has ever lived doesn't kill anyone, use MAVs, Laze targets, close quarter kill, cap flags or anything sorta proves your arguement is bs. Maybe you consistently play with a **** group of players.

The fact is Sniper Rifles are designed to be used from range. People thinking that the only way to play is running in gung-ho is as sad as people thinking they should sit on a mountain 10 miles away trying to get the longest headshot in the world. Narrow minded.

    Who's "they" paleface? :D
Half the time I'm running recon it's with the ACW-R. Granted, the other half it's with a sniper rifle, but (a) that's what canted ironsights are for; and (b) I'm aiming at the rooftops half the time and at the defenders during an attack the other half.

I mean, I'm usually not hitting them, but the thought counts for something :D
