No need to factory reset or wipe dalvik, just backup prior ROM then flash through Nitrality.

The only other thing I can think of is start from scratch, flash JVQ base via Odin the CM37....

Eugh thats what I was afraid of, will have to leave it until next week, EP this weekend and dont want to have a dodgy phone. Even tried PDAnet and no luck:(

    Hmm might do it later.

Nah wasnt all the wiping because it wasn't after any flashing, I had 35 flashed since it came out and everything was working fine and then just stopped. Cheers for the help.

One of two things. Faulty download or you're in the old recovery.

Hey guys, been lurking here for a while but this is the first time I've posted.

Currently running a Galaxy S on Darky's 10.2 and I'm considering either moving up to 10.3 or perhaps a different ROM depending on feedback (lot of people here seem to have moved over to Insanity).

Before I do anything though I just have a quick (and likely silly) question, I have a few paid for apps (PowerAmp) and I just want to know if there's anything I need to do to back them up properly before I flash another ROM ? I have the Titanium Backup free version and everything already backed up already so would I be OK with that ?

Any other tips would be really appreciated.

A nandroid or CWM backup along with Titanium Pro is what I do and its enough.

Titanium pro lets you backup/restore your apps youth just one click.

Lets us know what you decide to choose and we can help you more, :)

Cheers for the reply lewis. Is there a reason why I need to use nandoird/CWM backup on top of Titanium ? To be honest I'm only really concerned about ensuring I still have my paid-for apps (it's annoying Google Market doesn't seem to keep track of your downloads/purchases in between wipes) after the restore.

As for Darky's vs Insanity, what would I have to do to move over to Insanity from Darky's ? I'm assuming do a factory restore and then just flash the new ROM ? Is Insanity really that much better than Darky's? (Because my move over to Darky's was pretty much 10x better than stock)

Its always good to have more than one backup, for what ever reason and you can't get into your phone, all you can get to is CWM this is where it will be handy.

For the move over to Insanity, you need to flash a JVQ base via Odin, then flash Insanity via CWM.
You can do the usual pre wipes, the cleaner the better.

Anything is better than stock, but from someone who started with Darky's ROM, I think Insanity is better, less hassles, updates are simple, you don't lose your settings either.
Theming is simple as hell, no going into CWM, just select from in the phone.

I think Darky is in an awkward place now and its showing in there ROM's, more bugs and FC'S than I'd like.

Try Insanity man, you won't regret it!!

Ah the Darky v Insanity debate....In my opinon Insanity is the Rom for you if you like constantly tinkering and tweeking. Darkys is for you if you just want a stable Rom that you don't have to keep updating.I've tried Insanity twice , the 2nd time I had it just the way I wanted it, then I started missing calls and getting Fcs.So I went back to Darkys no more issues since then.Just personal preference Darkys less work.

Good to know, might try Insanity, see how I get on with it and then switch over to Darky's if it's causing hassle.

    LOL....no.

You just need to look at the both threads on XDA, you`ll find more posts related to cons from Darky`s then you would in Insanity`s.

    Insanity is solid!

Well you would say that Lewis. To much xda is bad for you.Can you not accept that darkys is just as good as insanity. It all depends what you want.Apples v Oranges. The Darkys and insanity threads on Boards are very quiet, everybody's happy with their Rom, Love and peace man.

    Hi
My name is G1032 and it's been 3 weeks since I last flashed a ROM.....:)

    Gonna try Insanity again.

    What's best Kernel?

Anyone use the SuperCharger script with Insanity? If so have there been any issues with it?
