It's very simple. When we ignore and don't condemn criminal behaviour by a cyclist, we clearly condone that behaviour. Tim however doesn't condemn criminal behaviour by motorists because

I think droidus nailed it here (I note Tim stopped replying to that line of questioning.)

Glad to see Tim had a cyclist thread in motors to keep him busy while he was banned from this place.

No I didnt have a thread - this implies that I started the thread. I merely contributed to one. It's flattering (if a bit weird) that you have taken such an interest in my posts on other forum's:p

Tim - there's a football section on Boards and people are wrong there all the time, you'd enjoy it.

    Dirk is tagging in.

Tim, there are one or two forums on boards that I either don't understand or just annoy me plain and simple. I'm not going to name them, that is against the charter, but I would imagine that everyone has some similar corner of boards that they have stumbled into and quickly exited.

What I don't understand is why you keep coming back to the cycling forum, when you have no time for anyone here and have now even started labelling it the "crime" forum. I'm pretty sure if I went onto the xbox forum (another one I frequent) and called it "the geek forum", or went to the ladies lounge and called it something derogatory/insulting, there would be obvious consequences.

Time and again you have shown total inflexibility on your narrow view of what Dublin traffic is actually like. It's not debating. It has been (excellently) pointed out to you in this thread that the "many" incidents of criminality you refer to were actually quite rare when backed up by facts.

So why, Tim, why do you keep coming back? Part of me thinks that you enjoy the infamy you have here. I mean, I can't see why else you post here. You think we are all law breakers, we're not going to change and it must seem like a losing battle. But then the threads that you rant in get a huge number of hits, post counts go through the roof and Tim is the centre of attention. Going by your other posts, this doesn't really happen anywhere else for you.

I agree that the only way for this to stop is for everyone to add you to their ignore list. I have grown tired of your posts at this stage, along with a lot of others. I think your 5 minutes of infamy might be coming to an end.

And I mean criminal - not illegal behaviour i.e.
Ban - violence of any kind and wilful or deliberate destruction or damage to property. I dont mean RLJ and footpath cycling and other relatively minor illegal behaviour

Well if this is the way you and others feel then why not update the charter to ban posts that admit, condone, infer etc criminal behaviour. If its the minority like you say then surely this wouldn't inconvenience or hinder debate? In fact I will have no reason to come on this forum at all if this were the case. What do u think?

Just wondering, but what is your reason for coming on this form at all? it doesn't seem like you expect to change anyone's mind or anything? just a bit of moral indignation and ranting(i have no particular problem with it if it is, just curious) ?

I dont think I rant. The only times I post on this forum is in reply to a post that's already there - I dont start anything. Many feel I post too often on the forum, given that my views appear to be at odds with the apparant majority views held by forum posters. BUT, I generally only comment on posts of criminal nature. So, on that basis there are too many posts on this forum of a criminal nature.
Simply ban such posts (and delete them as if they were like other objectionable type posts, porn, bestiality etc) and I wouldn't have any cause to highlight such posts. What do you think the chances of the forum taking such a leap of maturity?

ok the "general" thing is lost on you
Do you understand the difference between commenting on the actions of a 3rd party who is not a poster on Boards e.g. some random guy in the States VERSUS condemning the actions of someone who admits or gloats about violent or criminal behaviour on the cycling forum i.e. the various posters whose posts on the cycling prompt my reponse????

well You said generally, to me that would imply nearly all the time. But clearly this is not true

I agree you "sometimes" post on criminal behaviour, but "generally" you post about other things.

I'll grant you that I can see a difference. But you still condoned his behviour and certainly didn't condemn it. Can you see how your comments might be annoying in a cycling forum? or how it could be considered trolling behaviour?

I'm very concerned that my silence on the subject thus far might be taken by some as "tacit approval". To remove all doubt I would like to publicly state that I do not approve of TimAllen, tacitly or otherwise. I condemn and denounce his posts, past, present and future.

I would be grateful if, from now on, the approval (or disapproval) of posters hereabouts was ascertained from their words, not from their silences. This might prevent threads like this in the future, and would actually make sense.

    That is all.

Also having not posted I'm concerned by silence will be taken to approve both of violent attacks on van drivers and Tim Allen.

I approve of neither, though I can understand the thinking.

Just to put this one to bed. If I saw Tim on the road, I would be prepared to commit a criminal act upon him and if I have to suffer the consequences of that then so be it.
I am prepared to be a boardsie martyr in the war against Tim.

I'm confused; what am I condoning by not posting? Briefly skimming the threads somebody hit TimAllen with a van and he's now arguing with the horseracing forum on boards, is that right?

And because anything worth doing is worth doing well and twice I will happily post your bail to allow you to repeat the offense and later provide an airtight alibi for you for both occasions. The legal costs for all those facing such grievous and unfounded accusations of criminality against Tim will be taken care of by a conveniently established charity, ROK ON STRONG.

Doing 30mph on snow on sharp bends to 20 on the ice they didnt budge, they amaze me the more i try to fcuk myself up.
me and my Dawg D are like a pig in well pig ****e.
but then again i have real tires

Eh no our good owl Dublin roads and pathways, no one is walking on the paths in the evening. 20mph+ is easy to hit with these tires, even over snow!!
Haven't been to Wicklow since December so i wouldn't know if i could hit those speeds, put it this way i can keep up and sometimes overtake traffic. much to drivers amazement. !!! commuter race caroline??

Right then, Mockler vs Tonto at the next boards hill TT. The gradient should compensate for Mockler's lack of aerodynamics on the MTB.

Until then, keep it civil or the bad things will happen.
