GENIUS IDEA!!! Do you know what would make it even better? A big sign above the main gates (locked) that reads: "Arbeit macht frei".

Whatever view people have of the present situation, you should be embarrassed posting such an abhorrent phrase.

More like "only" 99.8% survive. And that's worst case. But yeah, let's just suspend life altogether because of it

You are better expressing that in terms of the numbers of people who caught it

The same for both the national and global cases currently.

Its hard to believe RTE are still covering these with no slide prep and one camera.

are you actually being serious when you post that?

Yes and as we determine how many contracted the virus the figure will drop significantly.

Cork overtakes Kildare as the county with the second largest number of cases.

The CDC are now saying that it doesn't spread easily on surfaces. So no need to be disinfecting our shopping

You'd genuinely wonder where Tony is today. They seemed very sure yesterday he'd be here today.

Once again a dull witted question designed for a headline but once again Dr Ronan Glynn has not risen to the bait. Playing a straight bat.

She has dissappeared from Boards for a few months several times in the past. Someone in the Weather forum was in touch with her last month.

Only if you live under the euro. Americans, Canadians, Australians , Norwegians etc throwing out the money to individuals and businesses in the form of grants.

    No repayment required.

She stood out to me as someone with great wisdom and a very much valued member of the forum.

It appalled me to see some posters mock her posting style and I hope that's not why she took a break as obviously boards was a big part of her social outlet.

    So were the Germans.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Watching the Six One news, you'd swear the party has started already. Scenes of young people congregating in large numbers at beaches and train stations. If this doesn't translate into a steady increase of Covid-19 cases I would be most surprised. Disappointing to say the least, obviously patience has been stretched thin for some.

People have been making these comments for weeks now yet numbers are dropping and according to Holohan the virus is suppressed in the community.

The point is that everyone needs to be protected and should avoid being infected, the vulnerable ones for obvious reasons, the rest because a. they don't know if they're vulnerable or not due to underlying conditions and b. because by becoming infectious they can infect vulnerable people, directly or indirectly (e.g. infecting their carers).

We cannot afford to continue with a lockdown of those least at risk and we absolutely cannot afford to do it again. So we are obliged to look for ways to protect those most at risk whilst allowing those least at risk to continue with life as normal as possible.
