Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i may try them again tomorrow as its been 4 or 5 months since last try. i am on a extended cab tho if that helps, as far as i know its not vectored

Not sure if that matters. ED E may know. Anyway, give them a shout and see. Try to get through to someone in 2nd levek support if you are getting no where and ask for a rate adaptive profile and if they are against it say look if its unstable I'll ring in and get it reduced and if not happy days! Just ask for Vic in 2nd level support.

With Fibre they cant just set you higher. Eircom limit it to the prequal value. RA or not, the prequal is the limit.

Noise Margin (Down / Up) 10.4 dB / 10.3 dB
    Attenuation (Down / Up) 14.3 dB / 5.2 dB
    Power (Down / Up) 12.4 dBm / 1.8 dBm

Had a trail for eVision there but cancelled it the other day and they changed something in the process.
Now synching higher than I had before - it was previously set at 70/20, now up at 80/20 but I'm noticing some small droppages in connection while on VPN for work, browsing t'internet and playing some browser based games.

Here's current stats; anything indicative in these?

    SNR seems fine.

Your fec errorrs are slightly on the high side but should cause any serious drops.

Is the line re syncing when it drops or is it just the a span connection dropping ?

Don't know... it's a small drop out, 2-15 seconds typically. Page will come up with a connection error, quick refresh and it's back.

Link Uptime: 1 day: 13 hours: 7 minutes >> That was the time when I was on the phone to them getting the eVision dropped.

You're getting bursts of errors, not lost carriers. If it was resyning downtime would be 60-90s on vdsl.

Have them reprofile you to 70_20.

Called them up the other day, they wanted to troubleshoot some things so left me as is and made some config changes in router.

A full drop out today, so called back and got it changed there and then to 70_20. They're also going to send out a new and improved Router... ;)

Its the 659b you're getting, a huawei to replace the zyxel. Dual band wifi is nice. Daycent unit but nothing spectacular.

Haven't plugged it in yet, will do so this evening after work.

On Vodafone since yesterday and getting the stats below - the one thing i notice is that my modem is not giving me the attainable rates. Looking back through the thread a lot of other Vodafone users are able to see theirs with the same modem HG658C - Any idea how I can get mine to display the attainable rates ??

    Thanks,

You have to live edit the html to show it, they hide them (which isn't a terrible idea). Search is your friend.

You'll have a fair bit of room to speed up, nice numbers.

100Mb max profile, the VDSL2 spec allows for 300Mb when the right freqs are in use. Attains here peak at 140 but they'll never set you to that.

Got onto Vodafone and they tell me that my line is only capable of 50. That was on the phone. Opened a thread on their talk to forum and they are looking into it. Really thought it would be a straightforward increase when the stats were showing as good as they are.

Show them the screenshot of your line stats that you posted in this thread and tell them your line can take it. If you are getting no where on the phone ask to speak to someone in 2nd level support. I think there is someone called "Ellen" who is a Supervisor there.

Finally after nearly a year my line was re-profiled by eircom, i think they also enabled vectoring on my cab as my downstream snr went from 13db to 18.8 last night. so checked my line on the eircom line checker and it said max speed of 70mb, rang vodafone and got re-profiled from 50/15 to 70/20
