i absolutely love that! what size is the case on it? now look what you've gone and done. "just when i thought i was out, they pull me back in":pac:

    Diameter: 41mm
    Height: 14.7mm

It's such a clean dial, beautifully constructed and the strap finishes it nicely. Hurry... if you order now... you'll have it mid-November :)

The wait is half the fun... right?!

Which one will be arriving? I'm a huge fan of these guys; they produce some beauties.

It's my third, after the Marine Original and the Flieger with logo and date. The Ikarus is absolutely beautiful and the strap choice is excellent. It may be your first, but it won't be your last!

    Thanks Dan,

I preferred the croc strap but couldn't justify paying an additional €120 for a crocodile strap.

Looking forward to getting it now.

I usual prefer big "sporty" type watches, but I liked the simple elegance of the Stowa

Those are stunning - I have the Flieger no logo-no date and a 1938 Chrono (pale dial). I would love the Flieger chrono but its just too close to both of the above in style/function. Well wear !

Yeah, for me it was either the Flieger Chrono or the No Logo-No Date... but the thickness did it for me... that's what she said?

If I thought about the 1938's, I'd go for the black one. The date is beautifully presented on that dial. Are the numerals as gorgeous as they are in photos?

My recently acquired Seiko Monster. Unfortunately the bracelet didn't come with all the original links, so it's a little tight for me. So I got this cheapo aftermarket one from fleabay until I can get some replacement links.

    Hi

    What's it like size wise?

I think for me 40mm is very small, and would look at the Steinhart Nav B as its 44mm

It fits like a dream at 41mm. I was also concerned about the size since my daily wearer is an Omega PO at 45.5mm, but I've been pleasantly surprised.

Have an opportunity to buy this brand new for £100.

    http://www.b-jeweled.co.uk/victorinox-swiss-army-unisex-quartz-watch-with-silver-dial-analogue-display-and-black-rubber-strap-v-25527.html

Seen it early last year when it retailed around £250 and despite looking around, could never find something similar. Like the simple white face on a black strap, and I think it looks nice and chunky for my wrist.

Looks fabulous. It's exactly the Flieger I want (but sadly won't be purchasing for a while).

Any chance of a few more pics, when you get a chance?

    How does it wear?

    Enjoy!

    Hi Blindsider,

it fits very well, is confortable and sits nicely on my skinny wrist.

It is obviously chalk and cheese when compared with my Navitimer (which is big and in your face), it is a classy understated watch.

Seen as you were the first one to point me towards Stowa, I'll give you first dibbs on it if I decide to flip it!

More photos attached (again with apologies for the poor quality)

I wasn't bonding with my polar explorer 2 and had too many white dialed watches in my small collection, so when the opportunity to trade it against this IWC Top Gun arose i took it up.

I know the top gun branding isn't for everyone and the preview date window polarizes opinion but i am very happy with it.

The ceramic case is a lovely dark grey colour and because of its durability should remain in as new condition and the kevlar strap is much much better than i thought it would be, very comfy. That said ill be ordering a vintage tan leather pilot style strap to change the look a little.

Thanks 93cab. Check out the Bavarian Crono website. They've got some quirky watches for decent money (mostly around €150). Decent quality and pretty unique... I can't say I've come across anyone else with a vw beetle speedo watch in Ireland in the last 12 months! Lol. I saw it first in Volksworld magazine.

Some of those watches are gorgeous! I'm a girl with a very small wrist but I'd love something vintage. Can anyone recommend any sites to browse?
