Nice to see a shot from their own environment for a change!

Trust they went back safe and sound, population suffered for being caught for the sake of it in the past.

Was a program on the other night and blue sharks were being caught and tagged and they showed the distance they travelled in two months. Female caught travelled back and forth to France and Ireland but a big male they caught travelled down to Monico and Africa and back to Ireland. In space of two months is incredible

Slow few weeks on the fly so I went to Meadow Lodge fisheries in Maynooth with a mate mostly to see what the place is like under new owners. Never thought I'd catch this lump an hour into the session.

Only there for two hours and expected to catch a few sprats and nothing more, the place is in fine form since the changeover it seems. Ten quid for the day too still, can't be beat.

Got this fella in fading light while fishing for seatrout a few weeks back. For scale the net opening is 15 inches. Nicest brownie I had in years. He put up a great battle in high water and had the fly reel screaming as he took off upstream. Released to fight another day.

100% flounder.
Sometimes a flounder will have orange/red spots just to confuse you even more.
A plaice will always have tiny lumps/nodules on its head. Run your finger down the middle of its head and you will feel them.

My first allright - apparently they are serious bait - cut the legs off and the legs go mental for hours - put the octopus back and he grows new legs!!Renewable bait

Similar to the horseshoe crab. Catch em drain them of 3rd of their blood and release them. Their bodies replace that blood in matter of days an millions is made off the blood
