Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Probably a question that's already been answered but what sort of size photos should be submitted please?

I'm not sure if there actually was any minimum or maximum size/resolution set, but my guess would be that ideal resolution is 300dpi or higher, where 240dpi would be minimum for printing.

The chart on the link below would then determine the dimensions of the image, depending on whether you want to participate in the print auction or not.

Please feel free to correct me, somebody, if I'm wrong...:)

do we have to choose an image that's the same orientation as the book format?

No, I wouldn't think so. If you would prefer to submit a photo in portrait, please feel free to do so... I'm sure there were 'non-landscape format' pix included in the book before. :)

It can be landscape or portrait. The book will be landscape.

If you have a credit card you can pay into the account. Darren can send an invoice if needed.

Yeah, would that be possible? I don't have a credit card so can't pay with that.

Let me know how much your bank charges will be and I'll add that to the payment.

Thanks Darren for looking after this. Money sent.

All systems go! I've sent an email to a few people (that were in previous books) to remind about the payment deadline, in case they hadn't seen PM's. Deadline for payment is tonight.. so please get the monies in if you have been putting it on the long finger! (I better go do that now then, ahem!)

The book colour has been chosen and will remain a SURPRISE!

As soon as you know what image you want to submit, send it in. The earlier the better! Gives Darren a chance to build the book and not be left with a huge bulk of work at the end.

Anyone want to commit to organising a Photowalk for the 1st December - the day of the launch?

Still struggling with picking a photo, thought I had one picked but then wasn't sure if it would be any good for print auction. Decisions, decisions all part of the fun of BPB

I asked family today about a few shots, both picked the one I wanted, but both had different opinions on how to crop it!!!!

    Thank God for friends :)

They're my next port of call :)

I did think of that, but im on the mac and was hoping for an easier option than having to use phone to take pic and upload that to mac first.

However, time is of the essence so off I go:o

    Thanks;)

If anybody [stealthily looking at SinisterDexter] would organise a photowalk... it would -for various reasons- mean the world to me.

The book is A4 format, so the actual page will be slightly smaller.

I was made aware there was a launch date picked..... and there was a request for a photowalk [stealthily looking at picaaf].... I will put on my thinking hat and see what I can come up with. Last year was a great one!

Call me stupid but how do I submit a photo (when I have it selected?)
The PM that I got from Tracy don't say how to submit it?
Do I e-mail it to Darren Greene too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,063 ✭✭✭GristlyEnd

"Once you have made payment, please forward your paypal receipt and photograph to boardsbook@gmail.com"

You may have missed it in the PM ;)

You send it to boardsbook@gmail.com with any caption/data you want included in the book. Size and resolution recommended for the image are on previous pages of this thread (me thinks). Oh, and if you don't want your image used for the auction, you need to mention it in the email. :)

It's a date so. We can sort out times and if we want a very rough route or just wander around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,153 ✭✭✭dinneenp

    Thanks...yes I missed it.
Instead of pondering painfully over picking a photo I've done it in about 10 minutes.
    Submitted. Done. Great.
Looking forward the weekend & photowalk.
