Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's hallowe'en. Get over it. Just because a dress is short doesn't mean a person is a slapper.

    Cop the fúck on.

One night a year, people drop the inhibitions. What's wrong with that?

I'm all for it myself! I think the Halloween thing that's emerged in the last few years is been taken as an opportunity for people to show a bit more of their naughty side without the normal social restraints and judgements. I'd wager those women who chose bare close to everything are generally a lot more uninhibited in private generally, while many of those who wouldn't dream of dressing like that, even on Halloween, aren't too imaginative or open to new things in the bedroom either.

When they only go out in public like this once a year, you shouldn't define this as the persons main character point though, it's just a bit of fun and teasing. I really enjoy the spectacle of it all!

On the other hand, women who always dress like this is another situation altogether; that reeks of desperation and attention seeking at the lowest level. I generally feel a bit sorry for them that they feel so bad about themselves that they need to resort to this.

ffs, that goes for every feckin costume!! Who's going to turn up to the office on a regular day dressed as the joker???? Why don't we just all forget it then, no-one should dress up at all in that case. Thats it, halloween is cancelled!

I dressed as Optimus Prime this Haloween. I suppose by the OP's (original poster, not Optimus Prime..) standards that means I have deeply rooted underlying desire to be a robot...

    I do.

    I concur.

It's halloween ffs, who gives a toss. If I dress up as Batman, does that actually make me Batman?! Let them dress how they want, it's 1 night a year. Perhaps you should go over to Africa and help the millions of people without clothes if you're that concerned about other people's attire.

I don't think so, the people who wouldn't dream of dressing like that probably just feel uncomfortable showing off so much of their body to strangers, that's a far cry from being open to new things in the bedroom where they'll be with someone they're close too.

The original poster is spot on.

I hate to see women demean themselves like that, weather it be one night a year at Halloween, or every weekend.

You don't see men going into a night club / pub wearing half nothing, with the imprint of their cock pressed up against their leg for all to see.

Please girls, keep the breasts and inner thighs and arses under a little bit more material. Less is more as they say. (Less flesh that is)

But then again women are attention seeking, irrational, competitive and have a serious case of the "Look at me, I'm SO important!!" 's.

    +1
The most sexually open-minded people I know are the ones who cover up and look classy; the sexually conservative ones are the ones who look like they're heading off to work in the lapdancing club.

    .

I wonder how you'd explain the amount of scantily clad males on Halloween then??
I saw a fella wearing nothing but a spray tan, a pair of boots, shorts and a little bow tie. He was a chippendale and I laughed.
    Halloween is all about laughs.
OP, did you even smile this Halloween? It doesn't sound like you did, poor thing.

So I'm afraid it's probably just a case of your sexuality driving you to take more note of, and better remember, girls doing it than lads (we tend to better remember physical details about those of the opposite gender).

    In your opinion.

What makes you think they are demeaning themselves? I imagine these women are very happy with what they are wearing.

Oh, sorry, you meant in YOUR OPINION they are demeaning themselves according to YOUR set of personal standards and ethics.

    Massive difference.
You don't see men going into a night club / pub wearing half nothing, with the imprint of their cock pressed up against their leg for all to see.

Eh, Skinny jeans mate. If i see one more dick while walking down Grafton street i'm gonna punch someone.
Please girls, keep the breasts and inner thighs and arses under a little bit more material. Less is more as they say. (Less flesh that is)

Why? So you think they are more attractive? Because all girls should want that. For you to think they are attractive, right?
But then again women are attention seeking, irrational, competitive and have a serious case of the "Look at me, I'm SO important!!" 's.

4 reason to love them right there.;)

I know I come across as a self rightous snobby bastard sometimes, but one thing I'm not is narrow minded. I've read everything posted here in this thread and have changed my attitude towards the subject..entirely.
Sometimes I overthink things - as in this case :P

This thread has served as a corkscrew on my bottle of 'chill the feck out'

However, I still think there's LIMITS to what should be on show.

I found it very hard to find a non slutty costume too. In the end i felt mine was too short so i wore it with jeans. I couldn't tell you the amount of times i heard ah you don't need to wear jeans with that! But if i hadn't i'd say someone would be here complaining about me. Different folks, different strokes. Maybe if people were a little slower to judge others and quicker to look at themselves these things would be a bit easier

I saw a girl in Kilbarrack who must have been about 13 (presumably goes to school), but who had dressed up as a "sexy school girl". Kind of sad in a bizarre sort of way. She wasn't Trick or Treating though, just hanging out with all the bad lads at one of the bonfires.

"Who cares" if children and young teenagers dress slutty? You may of course be trolling, but it does sound very weird to me. I love for you to elaborate on this.

The Quoted section he is responding uses the word "women".

    Not "girls" or "children".

Whilst i understand your concern about the subject you are talking about don't assume ever comment made her applies to women, or children, especially when providing direct evidence as to where their opinion is aimed.

Not so. There was a girl opposite me on the bus this morning showing off everything bar her nipples. I felt like asking her whether she was cold. She hopped off at Trinity happy as Larry with herself. Yet she'd probably be the first person to start complaining about people talking to her tits rather than her face. Why

Who are we to judge what people find acceptable to wear... seriously if ladies want to dress in what you call "slutty" outfits so what... thats up to them, they obviously like it....

I have to say I dont get it either, where is the invention in it or the wit or even the halloween factor? are girls so vain they cant have a sense of imagination about dressing up? The best costume I saw was a girl dressed as Russell Brand, she looked identical, it was brilliant. And then you see the play boy bunnies and the french maids and its so boring! Is it an under developed personality or just too afraid of not getting male attention because you are not half naked? I went to a party as a lobster not one for the lads but I had great craic!

My costume this year was fairly risque, and my friend's even more so. I was a "Shanghai girl" and she was a Victoria's Secret angel. My costume was a very short Oriental-style dress. I had a fan and a flower for my hair. Her costume was a bra, panties and angel wings. We didn't go out on the streets in those costumes; we were at a house party, and changed after we got there and before we left.
But as for why we dressed up as sluts:
You're only young once. Right now, I have a good figure. As I get older, and things start to sag and loosen, I'll no doubt feel the societal pressure to cover up more. The way I see it, I have many Halloweens ahead of me where I'll be covered up (and still having fun). So I'm going to have fun with my figure now and save the lobster costumes for later on down the line.
And I also think it's fun to be a little exhibitionist now and then. I don't do it every day. My friend and I work for a company that has a very strict dress code, so normally we're in high-neck blouses and skirts down to our knees, nothing too tight or too short. It's fun to break that mold and go a little overboard.

If the best costume you saw was Russel Brand then you should have been looking around more.:D

As for these girls costumes being boring. Once again, that in YOUR opinion.

Jesus, from a lot of the posts in this thread i can only assume a lot of you dress for others, as opposed to yourselfs?

The irony being of course that you think the only reason these girls dress in such a manner is for male attention.

    a) Attention from the opposite sex is not a bad thing. It's actually pretty damn fun. Weird, right?

    b) Some people are just fit. They like to wear **** all and they like to do it in public.

    Dealz with it.

I just find it ironic. How many threads do we have on here about women being called sluts? So, if a girl goes out wearing a short skirt and showing some cleavage she MUST be a slut right?

Because that is the default assumption, if a girl has a good body, and is attractive to you, and is wearing a risque outfit.....well, then your in, right?

Because she is a slut. So as desperate as you are to **** this chick you can't respect her, because she's a slut?

**** me, this is why i end up knocking assholes the **** out.
